6 + 2 Point Deductions

Hahahaha, yeah this definitely hasn’t been planned out meticulously by the random fixture computer.
I saw someone mention this last week. We had the same issue with Palace a few seasons back didn't we?

FFS, that derby could be horrific, the penultimate game of the season with them possibly chasing the league and us potentially fighting the drop is a horrible thought.

That was also my understanding, whereby our brilliant defence was along the lines of “ yeah but, no we didn’t borrow for the stadium, but we could have done and if we had, that would have been allowed. So we should be allowed to offset these other loans, that were nothing to do with the stadium.”

Also, the actual loans we did take out during the period under review, apparently had terms attached, stating that they could not be used for stadium construction.

The time to send in our star barrister was the first time, before we tried to defend that crock of Mosh magic accounting.
I had read that Rights & Media Funding had provided Everton with a waiver to use their loan funds for the stadium.

There is a possibility that we play liverpool in the second to last game of the season, if we are relegated by then I hope we don't play the fixture in protest of the points deduction.
I imagine there would be serious discussions about playing it behind closed doors if they are already in Champions League places and can't drop out of them, but the league title is sorted by then

The Premier League we're monitoring, not managing. We have to take ownership of our own finances. We we're purchasing players and then expecting to sell them/ other on. When it didn't work, we gout ourselves in a mess.

Again from the hearing documentation.

The 13 August 2021 agreement imposed certain obligations on Everton, one of which was to obtain the Premier League’s approval of purchases of new players. The Premier League approved each such request but when doing so cautioned Everton that it (the Premier League) was not managing Everton’s finances, and that it was for Everton to ensure that it complied with the PSR. The Premier League asserts that for Everton to have persisted in player purchases in the face of such plain warnings was recklessness that constitutes an aggravating factor.103. The Commission considers that it was unwise for Everton not to have curtailed player purchases. It was aware of potential PSR difficulties but pressed ahead in the hope that it would make sales of players that would enable it to achieve PSR compliance. Events have proved that to be a poor judgment.
Which player purchases are they referring to though?

Everything is lining up nicely for the PL. They were suggesting it was the last game on Toffee TV. The Merseyside Derby, where Liverpool can win the league AND relegate Everton on the last day, AND ITS LIVE!

Lets hope it would be irrelevant by then.

Here are 2 things that aren't happening this season:

1. Everton getting relegated
2. Liverpool winning the league

It will be yet another derby with nothing really riding on it

Why on earth would we agree to play a home game behind closed doors if we’re actually fighting for points?
was responding to the "if we're relegated by then" bit - if we're already down thanks to a points deduction and playing Liverpool at home, I'm pretty certain the game wouldn't be played or completed if fans were in the stadium

Personally, if this pans out, o want it live streamed under Emergency Broadcast to every sodding house in the UK with no off switch so we can ruin it all. Stop their title and stay up.

That would be mental, I reckon Merseyside Police might have something to say about that, a derby on the last day of the season.
