6 + 2 Point Deductions

As far as I am concerned it should be an NBA style, they have a set amount that a club can spend and they can go over that but have to pay a TAX on any overspend and this has to be footed by the owner and cant be saddled as debt on the club.. say the budget is 100 million you can spend 150 million so you are 50 million over then the owner pays the 50 million along with another 50% of the overspend so another 25 million then this 25 million is sent to grassroots, This would allow owners to spend whatever they want without jepordising the club, even the welthest people would soon get tired of a 50% tax on their spending. A catious owner can stay within the limits a new owner can splash the cash for a few seasons in an attempt to become compeditive and established owners can spend every so often.

I like that, and recon that could be worked into mine too...to really nail this, so the whole pyramid and Grass roots can thrive.

I'm not going to claim to be fantastic at math but it looks like United have made substantial losses over the 3 years to 2022 , and not a word about it.

Is this supposed to be praise worthy?

In a relegation scrap last season, decided to overspend to survive, released 17 players and got lucky with selling their best players to Saudi for an overinflated price?

That's not "great" financial management by the club, that's a gamble.

Additionally youd never see the top clubs having a firesale just to stay compliant. Which again is another example as how there's a polar opposite between the top and the rest of the league that P&S adds too

One of the better ideas I've heard.

And they tell us this is a fair system...

Once again, it ONLY benifits the top clubs.

More of this please.

That MP has got it in a nutshell-what was our barrister doing accepting that charge - as it's double punishment in the same era - & as for finding out our punishment after the season is over is a joke as the prem stated they never wanted that to happen as it would be unfair on other clubs in the bottom 3 ?

Where's Andy Burnham in all this ?

Also not very sustainable.. sustainable means you can go as you are indefinitely, I wouldn't see wolves last too long in the football league let alone the PL if they keep selling their best preforming players, all it would take is for a few the cheaper players you've replaced your best with to be duds and you are in free fall.. I don't get the point of this article lick arsearry

Gary O'Neill is a massive knob

“We have tried to calibrate it so Premier League clubs in the bottom half of the league can aspire to be in Europe.”

Fairly innocuous sentence there. But aside from the fact is was calibrated years ago and never updated or refined, the thought of people in suits “calibrating” how much chance a bottom half club should have to “aspire” to get into Europe is incredible.

Wolves have a decent youth setup that usually produces a player or two each year and they do recruit fairly well, it's managers that's the thing with them.
