6 + 2 Point Deductions

the proposed amount to be deducted will be known before the end, but the appeal against it won't be heard til after. Nothing extra to be taken off, but could be bad if we finish ahead of Forest in 17th and they got them back and we didn't
I dont see how it would be reasonable for Forest to get any back but not us. They still broke the rules, as flawed as they are. They missed the period to hit and the Johnson argument doesn't hold up for me in terms of the rules. That said, the rules are broken and all deductions for us and Forest and anyone else that matter should be void. We could use Richy as an example, we should have gotten more for him but we buckled because Spurs knew we needed to sell him. We did so and we are in breach of the P&S/FFP again, showing the rules dont support sustainability.
does anyone know how bad Forest's breach is in comparison to our 19m?
I dont know for certain but I imagine it would be around the same region as us, as if their defence is they were holding out on for around 50m for Johnson, id have put him in the range for 30-50m (and I think I'm undervaluing him there so maybe even less of a breach than us). But that's just a guess. Happy for anyone to correct this.

Mentioned it before but if the independent commissions are truly independent from each other and the Premier League then different punishments and mitigations being accepted or rejected are theoretically possible.

But we all know it'll magically line up despite this supposed "independence"

You are right. This meeting can’t change anything about this appeal but I hope our representative has the balls to make clear that we are going to be kicking and screaming about it charges even beyond that, and beyond the season, and that we will use the courts if necessary.

Make it clear that just hammering us (and maybe Forest) then changing the rules so the rest of them can’t get done will lead to us causing the maximum disruption possible. Even at this late stage pressure from the majority of clubs to do away with these points deductions leading to appeals and legal action beyond the season could cause the PL to change course and maybe look at a negotiated settlement so they can quietly move on to a more fit for purpose system.
I think this meeting will see a number of leaks coming out of it and Mr Masters position will be questioned.

I also hope we go full postal in the discussions.

Yeah, Masters might trumpet the benefit of the so-called open sanctions regime but it is insane to have no agreed structure in place for something this important. It's perfectly possible both ICs could find us and Forest guilty of overspending, even the same amount of overspend, and both would have total leeway on the punishment so it could vary wildly.

That is no way to conduct anything let alone matters that could involve tens, hundreds of millions, even historic clubs being put out of business by the massive financial consequences. You simply cannot do these things on the back of a fag packet. As I said above both clubs need to be hammering home at this PL meeting that absolute hell will be raised if such grave consequences come from such a flimsy, ad hoc process, one that they are likely to abolish after they're done with us.

Not a complete disaster if we don’t get any back, would hopefully mean Forest also get 10 points, then all comes down to our second charge, which would hopefully be 3 pts max given the double counted time period.

Nett +7 on Forest. Currently putting us 4 ahead (effectively 5 with GD).

Sheff U down.

Burnley looking down.

Would take that, but my Everton paranoia says thats far too convenient for us:)
