6 + 2 Point Deductions

If we get some points back for example 4-5 we will be above forest and luton. And it's been suggested that Forest were more at fault than we were for the upcoming charge. So it's possible they will then go even further behind us. I think the way Luton are playing right now it's more likely Forest will find themselves in the mire. But then we will have to wait for them to appeal should they get a heavy deduction and it all becomes a real mess
Forest have an interesting run of games coming up which could see them dragged right into it and likewise come March time Luton have a tough run.

It must be like a free hit to Super Silk after little dicky Masters saying that us breaking psr is down to "significantly spending on transfers"...
You would think. But the KC working with Silky pants was present at the original hearing, and presumably was involved in all the pre-hearing wrangling and post hearing discussions on the nature of the sanction (which Master claims happened), and he “allowed” our guilt to be blamed on unwise player spending.

You do wonder how our team could leave the room if there was still a feeling our points hadn’t been digested or understood by the IC. And yet here we are.

You realise what an unholy mess this is when you look at the remaining games for us and other teams down the bottom - and realise you have NO IDEA what anyone needs to do in order to stay up.

I've loosely got us finishing on ~33 points (assuming 10 points total deduction) but whether that will be enough depends on Forest's potential deduction, our appeal, our further charge, and then THAT appeal as well.

Just a terrible, terrible mess initiated by the idiots who run the league. The likes of Masters must be feeling pressure to resign. You have one of the biggest, most glamorous brands in the world, awash with money and adored around the world, and you reduce it to this entirely through your own hubris, arrogance and greed.
It’s a complete mess. We pay thousands a year for tickets and / or tv subs to watch our team play matches without even knowing what they mean, while at this very moment arguably the most important “match” in Everton’s history is taking place out of sight in an unknown location where men in suits are deciding how much to damage our club for an idiot owner spending slightly too much money.

Used to be a sport, this.

Not gonna be as simple as that as I think the biffs that run the league have made a pigs ear out of it. I bet by the end of the season you won't know who's gonna go down when you look at the time line they've proposed.

This hearing we'll get a response by mid Feb apparently.

Forest and us hear about the new breaches in April. Then an appeal which gets a response end of 24th May...which is 5 days after the league finishes.

Either way...I think a team goes down pure by the Premier League rather than being the worst team

Its a good job we have another opportunity to show that player spending wasn't the cause. I'd assume Super Silk would be making it a priority to show how economic our spending has been on players and wages. Prove that and it blows any reasoning for a 10 point deduction out if the water.

Hopefully by that time in May, the PL will be under pressure to have things resolved, thus not making a complete mockery of the league. Especially with the rules due to change where neither club would have broken any rules.

I have no clue what will happen, because I don't trust the process at all.

If I had to guess, I'd say we get 2 points back, because it's virtually impossible to justify a more severe penalty than administration. And then probably lose them again in the next process.

Any points deduction is a complete farce given we're talking about specific accountancy arguments. But the league have already shown they plan to make an example out of little Everton, so why should we expect that to change now.
This is it for me, there is no procedure, guidlines or precedent and we are the whim of an 'independent' panel selected by the organisation we are appealing.

I've no doubt we will win the argument, especially having seen how poorly prepared Masters was and how woefully he spoke, that doesn't mean we will get anything back.

its a fair point but in some senses negated by the fact we had a bizarre 94-95% wage to income ration and that has had to be massively cut, Dont think any other team was anywhere near that percentage IIRC. However we have worked hard with the Lord and Masters at PL to get on top of this and it is now much lower, you would expect them to take this into account as we abided by and worked with them to get slightly back on track.

our finances are a real mess, no doubt but we held our hands up and "knuckled down" yet they have imposed the harshest penalty for working with them???

Like another poster said yesterday, its almost like the rules are fit for purpose and then a made up rationale(yet to be disclosed) decided our penalty.

as far as s/show go, this is right up there

Hi, re Forest I have seen nothing that says how, why or how much they are in breach. Is it in the public domain? Thanks

…..we need a whistleblower from within the PL. Somebody who knows what’s going on, somebody who has access to and can leak dodgy e-mails, minutes, internal comms etc.

There are heaps of whistle blowers in the prem … they have two assistants and VAR too

Supersilks become "super" by winning lots of cases, I suppose. I doubt they sign up for stonewall loser cases, at the very least. On the other hand, if he manages to "win" this case I suspect there'll be a lot more football related business for him, so maybe it's a calculated risk.

Why wasn’t he employed in the first place is my question.

Surely it would have been better than mosh “taking the stand” and confessing to everything

To say Everton had a sporting advantage because we spent more than we brought in is a load of plums. We've just tried to make ground and catch up but failed miserably. Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs have been out spending the rest of the league for decades. This whole thing is to just keep their lovable 6 at the top of the table and not let anyone else dream of breaking in.

I’d argue that our reckless spending on crap actually have everyone else a sporting advantage … just show clips of some of our signings like Sandro nearly breaking his own leg kicking the ground, or bolasie having the physio inspect one of hos knees and being told he’s ok, when in actual fact he had done the ligament in the other leg.
