6 + 2 Point Deductions

This rolling 3 years thing with PSR. Is it 3 years, for example 21/22, 22/23 & 23/24 which can't have a loss greater than £105m, and then the year after (24/25) does that new year become the new 3rd year of a "new" cycle (22/23, 23/24 & 24/25)? Or it a block 3 years like 21/22, 22/23 & 23/24 then 24/25, 25/26 & 26/27?

Reason I ask, and I know it's not just to do with transfer fees, but Chelsea's 3 year cycle from 21/22, 22/23 & 23/24 has over £700m negative transfer net spend... how isn't that in breach of the 3 year rolling loss limit of £105m?
The Premier League will dock Everton another 10 points to send Chelsea a message.

Rs, Man U, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelski are not going to fall foul of their own rules. They started this FFP to stop 'another Chelsea' when the money started to go to City.

I heard adrian durham on the radio driving home from work earlier going on about it was arsene wenger who really pushed for ffp as he didnt like clubs coming through with new money and challenging.

As long as owners are held accountable for all losses from the start by signing off on collateral, and not have losses hoisted on the club by borrowing against the asset then they should be able to spend what they want if they have it. Any business that is brand based needs investment to grow it, and those companies already in the market with the biggest brands limiting that capability is cartel behaviour and anti-competitive.
We aren't bankrupt though
If we were we'd get less of a sporting punishment which is absolutely ridiculous in and of itself.
That would be true culpability to sustainable business practices, very sad we all know those responsible will walk away with a barely a dent in their bank balance while an organisation essential to communities could bear the punishment for their 'mistakes'.

It’s an utter joke. In any other industry, if someone wants to install gold plated lavs and overpay staff that’s their problem as long as they can sustain the losses. You could do that in the local supermarket, which is also “important to the community” and if it goes to the wall then someone else will buy it and turn it into a profitable business. Same applies here, Moshiri has wasted money hand over fist and the fans have suffered for sure but whoever comes in deserves a clean slate.

As Dyche said, we are not gaining any on field advantage. We’ve sold our best player in Richarlison and our best prospect in Gordon to balance the books. We’ve brought in inferior players to replace them. It’s an utter joke and all designed to keep the status quo in the PL and guarantee the usual suspects UCL football. Tbh I think expanding the UCL damaged the integrity of domestic leagues drastically.

It's not competitive at all freezing the relative wealth of clubs at a certain point and then making that the status quo. If they'd done it at the advent of the PL in 92, Chelsea, City and Blackburn would never have won a title.

Clubs should be allow to spend what they want providing any input of funding by owners is not done by rolling up debt.

If the league was really concerned about financial stability and competitiveness there would be a salary cap not this nonsense designed to keep everyone in their place.

What does it matter anyway. The game is dead. More time and column inches devoted to refereeing and finance. Its supposed to be a sport.

Yeah I was thinking about Blackburn this morning. Get in a decent manager, buy a few decent players and Bob’s your uncle. Could never happen now.

Agree, game is dead. VAR and P&S rule the airwaves.

But what would a Wolves fan say (to play devils advocate)? They’ve sold 17 players to meet PSR. They’d argue that by not selling more we’ve had a significant sporting advantage over them.

This is all on Modhiri. Who suffers? Us, not him

So, we are going to go through this season with this thing hanging over our head, not knowing if they we will get back points, have more points deducted, stay in the PL or be relegated.

Should be a fun season.

To be fair would you be happy with most of you're players sold, what quality football would you be prepared to watch ? I know we've been on the whole crap, but we could have been a whole lot worse and easily could have went down, without them players. We are being conditioned to going down, with unfair, self centered rules that are set for the top 6 cartel, that most teams haven't a hope to stay within, unless they sell most of their stars to the cartel. The rich get richer and stronger, the poor get poorer and weaker. Where is the competition? What is the point of trying to compete with you're hands tied behind you're back.

They didn't specifically sell 17 players at all for PSR. 2 retired, about 6 of them you'd never class as a first team player and about 3 of them they had out on loan anyway.

They sold Nunes for an eye watering 50+m and the same with Neves. Got a good price for Collins too. So they sold 3 players who I'd class as proper first team players and got decent money are the 3 that saves them from any breach.

We were obviously hopeful of the likes of big sales of Richarlison Gordon etc helping us fall in line, plus we've had to sell "top youth prospects" in Simms, Cannon, Nkounkou, Ishe Smith, to balance the books along with last minute sales of Gray and Iwobi to try and keep the books in line but everyone makes out like we've spent millions upon millions and have stockpiled a big squad.

Our squad is on its arse as we've sold 90% of what was actually worth anything and replaced it with Championship level players.

How have we had a significant sporting advantage from weakening our squad significantly over the last 5 years, from having one of the lowest spends of the last 5 years, and from getting into financial trouble due to building a stadium?

The argument doesn't add up. There's no credibility to it. How would you even quantify it.
