6 + 2 Point Deductions

I suppose we were in breach for 21/22 mate - though we’re led to believe that the breach 19.5 mill interest anomaly.…..

I just can’t fathom how we actually lost about 72 mill at a minimum ball park in 22/23 with our sales, has to be the ground or interest on debt.
I know the Esk is a bit discredited these days but after the Gordon sale he estimated we’d be around break even for the year, then he adjusted that to a loss around equal to last year after recalculating interest etc , which from a
PSR point of view would be sufficient with 18-19 coming off. Has it really been twice that?

Unless our limit was lowered due to the owner funding issue but I’m not really a fait with the complexities of that.

It was the Steve Walsh era that screwed us. Rooney, Sig, Klaassen, Vlasic all signed in 1 window on massive wages. All number 10s, not to mention all slow as hell. Where was the thought process?
We seemingly had Walsh, Koeman and Moshiri all buying who they wanted with no joined up approach. That's where all this stems from
Ok, yes to the general feeling here but Vlasic was a HUGE prospect and made the terrible terrible choice of playing against Everton in the Europa League. Had he not he'd probably gone elsewhere and ACTUALLY developed. Also, not huge fee and DEFINITELY not huge wages for him either.

But yes, Walsh was awful. Still think it's mostly on Brands tho, the bulk of his signings were in the 20m range for massive wages.

If he's just estimating based on guesswork he should probably say that rather than pretending he secretly sits on the board but can't tell anyone.

Walsh spent 28m Bolasie, 45m Iceland, 23m Klaasen, 28m Keane, 11m Williams, 27m Tosun, 23m Schneiderlin, 20m Walcott, 11m Rooney....

Sure there's more... Sandro 100l a week...

Absolutely. And he is to a large extent guessing as his shifting estimates show. But in the past he’s at least been in the ballpark.

So we were close to loosing 90 mill in 21/22, Richarlisons sale brought it down to 40 mill odd.

If we brought in close to 70 mill in Gordon and Kean, that’s a 20 mill loss, + 20 mill for new players, + 10 mill for Lampard and team, + 19.5 mill in the interest issue.

That has us at a loss of 69.5 mill, stull can’t work out how we don’t comply, unless they are counting the 19.5 mill twice - surely we made the adjustment.

There surely has to be another cost we aren’t factoring in, maybe it’s interest, we have borrowed a lo at a high rate.

Loose figures I know mate, but just trying to get my head around it.
