BODMAS says 41 and if you don't believe in BODMAS just running left to right would be
40 + 40 * 0 + 1=
40 + 40 (= 80 )
* 0 (= 0)
+ 1
= 1
So if you not gonna say 41 at least give the logic wrong answer of 1

Its just a simple maths question, think of it as you are going to get $40 for some work with a bonus of $40 for each extra unit you produce, an extra bonus would add you $1 just for completing the work.

You do the work but don't produce any extra units. Your calculation would be $40 + $40 x 0 + $1 which would give you $41, you could use brackets to emphasise the multiplication to be done first but the arithmetic rule of BODMAS requires you to do that first anyway.

Hope this unwrecks your head, don't listen to Chico he was just popcorning.
