3rd best defence in the league

probably because we've been the better team in about 18/19 of our league games. Not one team has created enough chances where you could say - they should have scored 3 against us. But most of the time we seem to have conceded with virtually the only shot on our goal - mainly due to our inept goalkeeper for most of the season. I'm surprised at how little chances we give other teams though considering every team seems to run through that giant hole in the centre of the pitch between defence and midfield.

like JDawg says, we're more attacking. if we would have gone with the usual hibbert/neville right back option our defence would be even tighter - but we certainly would not be in as good of a position

With us 3rd and Swansea, who are below us 1st, just where does that leave the 4 teams above us in the table that actually matters.

We're 5th and Swansea are where ever

So the other 4 teams above us must be attacking more

* sends memo to Moyes.....attack more you muppet

*receives answer....they've got better players than me and more money to pay them with....silk purse - sow's ear d*ckhead???

So wrong, at one point we had the most shots on goal than any other club in Europe. We attack enough but can't finish our chances, we are not including those chances that don't end up with a shot either.

If we had just finished some of those chances we would be right up there.

Yeah Jelevic is not really finishing them off, we could do with another pacy attacking midfielder but we can hope.

Imagine what we would have been like if we didn't have such a poor central midfield?

Neville and Osman are unable to adequately protect our defence, and our defence has been put under unnecessary pressure many times this season.

We'd have a minimum of an extra six points if we had a proper central midfield, IMO.

good vision there mate -
Osman is good going forward -
Neville is good going home -
as sweeping def midfielders two plastic exercise cones would have done a better job than those 2 -
apart from leaking like a seive they do not fall back to protect/assist the back 4 in defending - the problem is not our back 4 but the vacant space just in front of them -

Jelavic has been better at that - than in finishing where our other problem lies

How many cup games has Moyes won v lost?

Not an Apples Vs Apples comparison

It's knock out, sudden death

You don't advance ( to the next round ) by not loosing, you advance by WINNING

So it doesn't matter how many you win

It's the ONE you lose that does for you
