3D TV

Anyone any good with this kinda thing? I have a few questions

Is it going to take over the earth? And is it any good?

The reason I ask is that I've had an eye problem since a very early age where my left eye doesn't really work. This makes 3d movies etc also not work for me. I'd be pretty annoyed if everything went 3d in the future.

(and I've just recently bought a new tv...that is not 3d enabled!)

I'd hang on a wee while to see how it pans out, and for the prices to drop down first mate.

ie: I know absolute [Poor language removed] about them but wanted to contribute to the thread.

Blue -ray is as far as im travelling into the new.. The 3D thing will be an option.. not mandatory..

Nah mate the quality isn't up to scratch. It gives you a massive headache and I dont want to be sitting watching tv with those weird glasses on. What happens with people who already need to wear glasses to watch tv? I think this is one invention too many we aren't quite ready for yet.

I went to a special preview of the new King Kong 360-3D ride at Universal Studios Hollywood last night. It is apparently the worlds largest 3-D screen that wraps around the trams (hence the 360 tag in the name). It was a decent ride, using motion control to simulate the falling feel while King Kong battled 2 T-Rex's and and giant arachnid all around us. The 3-D effect was pretty darn good, BUT the picture quality was not. All in all, I would have preferred a traditional Universal ride and as such give it a 6 out of 10 on the cool-o-meter.

They are trying to big it up with football at the moment, but I'd like to see darts in 3-D, with the cameras fixed into the board.
