Not going to lie, I'm sat here with tears rolling down my cheeks.

I, like a number of others on here, was too young to ever see Bally play (I'm only 20) but I have heard all the stories from my parents and through people like yourself and he was truly a legend and most of all an Evertonian.

I remember that Man United game like it was yesterday, the emotions were overflowing from everyone and when his children came walking down to the Gwladys St with those flowers I just broke down and looked around me to see plenty of people doing the same. I think it speaks volumes about how much he meant to Everton as a club and a family and not just the people who saw him play for us in that era.

I regret the fact I never met him but I'll always know we shared a bond in that we were both part of a family, the Evertonian family.

I love Alan Ball. I love this club. We are a special club, there is no other club like us, and I'm saying that without a doubt in my mind.

I was born in 65 so too young to have any memories of seeing him in a blue shirt in the flesh. However my earliest memories of the name Everton came together with the name Alan Ball. Synonymous is the word.

My older sister was a blue but turned to the dark side when we sold Alan Ball. Never forgave the club for selling the player she loved. Could have become an Arsenal fan, couldn't she? The bitch

Bally was the best Everton player, of world accolades, and in professional footballing terms.

Mr Brian Labone (maybe even Colin harvey for loyalty) was the best EVER Evertonian.

The number of people whom have stated that they've had tears in their eyes whilst reading this thread , - puts hands over Ego's ears - , is less about my writing , but MORE about Alan Ball Jnr. an' , MOST OF ALL - as Bally would be FIRST to say - , it's about Everton Football Club .

This institution has the power to do that .
To REALLY touch you , in a place where nothing , save your immediate Family an' loved ones , can even approach .
An' let's be honest , NONE of us can be called Glory Hunters , eh ???
