I was going to fly up to Singapore with my son for the 3 games there, but my wife talked me out of it. (n) “Tournaments” like this may seem like a money spinning excercise for the rich clubs, but for those of us who have chosen to live in paradise rather than remain in the uk, it is the only chance for us to see world class teams and players in a competitive match.
It’s not a competitive match. It’s a preseason friendly. It doesn’t matter how much the organisers try to fluff it up, or how much money changes hands, it’s a preseason friendly all the same.

true, but I am claiming it as a competitive friendly. ;) Its the closest we get to a competitive match in the flesh.

Quite a good night/morning for the footy later.

The vermin beat Citys B team 2-1 with a last minute peno, to be fair it wasnt a full strength vermin side.

Spurs are currently beating Roma 4-1 at HT, pretty much B teams for both also.

More like our EDS team than the B team. Pretty much a standard match for when we play them. 2 pens for us not given, they score an offside goal and get a dodgy penalty in injury time. They also made some pretty hefty and unnecessary challenges on some of our kids. Typical Liverpool shithousery.

Proud to say that I would never travel more than an hour to watch one of these games, while not paying more than $20 for any ticket, even if it's Everton (mostly because they would get smashed by just about anyone.)

I read yesterday that each club in the ICC gets 20 million quid for 3 games.
Yep,seems right i think,as someone on here, were ever it is,posted a report saying they get 20 million, plus extras etc for how many is in the crowd and so on,report was last years one [post 3]

I remember reading about Chelsea and the RS both played in Sydney against local opposition days after 2016-2017 season finished and got over 10 million quid each.

We really need to get our international profile up as it can be quite a lucrative revenue stream, appearance fee,cut of the tickets and merchandise sold seems easy money for the club.
