1969-70 and 1984-85 combined eleven(and four subs should we say?!!).

Controversial but go on all you lucky sages who saw both,I'll have a go if you don't mindlol as I saw the tail end of the 1970 side as my first game was March 1971:)

Southall

Wright Labone(Captain) Ratcliffe Van Den Hauwe

Steven Harvey Kendall Sheedy

Ball

Sharp

Subs(West,Stevens,Reid,Royle)

Bloody tough that even now I'm doubting myself, no place for my heroes Bracewell and Morrissey:(
Good choice that Dario. More or less my pick except for Royle over Sharp....perhaps. wanted to include Ray Wilson and the Golden Vision but of course they had left before 69/70. Both great sides. Think the 84/85 team was better than the latter 80s side, but the 69/70 one was the best of all three imo. ;)

Yeah,I struggled between Sharpy and Big Joe,literally the toss of a coin for me that one:)

Notice every poster selects the Holy Trinity spot on they had to be seen to be believed, imagen them on gras, and not mudbaths......of bygone pitches -todays pitches they would be even better!

Interesting that the total points for each season with 3 points for a win were (earliest first) 95,90, and 86.....more like the palace of Versailles than the imaginary Camelot eh?:cool:

tbf, I'd be hard put to go past that.

But I'd go with the modern any 3 from 7 on a bench of:
West; Brown (RB & LB), Mountfield; Husband, Reid, Bracewell, Royle, Morrissey.
Edit; at todays prices theres nearly £2 Billions worth there.
2nd edit; *engages 'smug mode' and I got to see them all going back to Bobby Collins
