Yep mate,it's disgusting when you see what goes on these days.
My late father, and older brother came home raving about Tony Kay when I was 7 years old great can't wait to see him then the ban came gutted!
It was so harsh Kay got top marks in the Sunday People in the game he took a mere 50 quid for - banned from all types of football non league etc things they get away with today?
So unfair, but the rules were so rigid in those days!

Albert Dunlop was the desperate player who sold his story, the red lot on Derby day fetched loads of purple heart balloons to claim our players were winning games unfairly it was a big scandal at the times in which Tony Kay did an article recently to kill the myth of Dunlop just being a bitter man being replaced by Gordon West.
Nothing was proved positive it was just a story for the out of favour Dunlop to sell a scandal to the newspapers!

Tony Kaye asked a pal of mine if anyone can identify the young girl running behind the players on the pitch at Goodison. "Does anybody know this young girl following the Everton footballers after their triumph over Fulham in 1963..they won the league..she would be about 67 now..Tony Kaye would love to meet her again after all those years

Looks like Anne Frank! I will be amazed if anybody recognises her now after 53 years , even her own relatives if alive now will struggle given how much she will have changed.

I went to my first game (age 9) just after the big freeze in February 64. My memory was that it was v Blackpool, but web research suggests it was probably Wolves (0-0). We used to get there really early, 1.30, to get a good spec. The smells were very distinctive: fags, horse [Poor language removed] and cheap meat pies in particular. I was very nervous of the police horses and only realised much later in life that not all horses are that big. I think people said the 69-70 team was better than the 62-63 team ... I didnt see enough of the latter to judge.

69/70 team did play a fantastic style of football - Labby played in them both he favoured the latter for pure football, the 1963 team were no slouches though with Vernon , and the golden vision - Ball Harvey , and Kendall were a delight to watch!

Tony Kaye had the lot skill aggression and as hard as nails

I didn't see him play he was just a little before my time. Quite a few blues who did see him have told me if he hadn't been banned Bobby Moore would never have played for England

Scuffy you are correct in you,re assumption it was Blackpool 0-0 27th Feb.1964. the big freeze had just about abated.
I too didn,t see enough of the League winning team, too young to go so me mum said...
But the first score i looked for when me dad got home with the echo was of course Ours.
As already stated the Holy Trinity was pure football to watch.
We went the match without even thinking we would lose...how times have changed ..dear me !!

Very harshly dealt with, considering Matt LeTissier has openly admitted to fiddling stuff.

It would have been Nobby styles who would have made way - Bobby Moore was pure class- Labby stated if Kay had not been banned he and Bally would have loved playing together two, peas in a pod, but would we have ever seen the holy trinity???
That is the conundrum !
