I remember as a kid the reception he got one game when he returned with Southampton in about 1978 I think,I was too young to appreciate Bally when he was with us but that reception has always stuck with me and my thoughts at the time were this fella must have been one hell of a player for our football club and how I wished I had been born ten years earlier to appreciate him

I took my wife to that game. It was an amazing atmosphere and Ball said afterwards he was in tears.....

That should be the scouts job. get out on them fields on a saturday and sunday morning and find 10 Alan Balls (They don't have to be ginger but ginger is preferred)

Started queueing half way down Church Rd West to get a ticket for that,so glad the Kopites got to see the goal on a nice big screen.
