It is a long time ago and best kept in the past - lets look to this season and an improvement in the performnces

I'm starting to think it's time that we just let this go tbh. It hasn't reflected particularly well on us to still be dwelling over it to this day really.

If only that goal has been allowed, we could have taken Villarreal’s place. We could be the seventh place team in Spain!

Poor decision by Collina.

Also poor decision from Everton's midfield to let Sorin waltz through it for both of their goals.

We got beaten by the better team over 2 legs, regardless of Collina.

Regardless of who was the better side it was a disgraceful decision. I was at the game I woke up in my hotel next morning and put my TV on and the Spanish sports reporter couldn't hide his smug grin.

I mean Christ we start with Phil Neville as DM and Beattie up front. The club also decided season ticket holders wouldn’t get their own seats for the home leg. We didn’t deserve CL football at all.

The Everton board lost that for us that summer by failing to make funds available to buy players and strengthen our chances. Budgeting for 40 points still.

Kroldrop, Arteta and Neville for £10M, when we should have been investing to grab a fleeting chance of making an enormous leap.
Ah yes the Leeds Gambit...still working well for them even as I type.
