13 Reasons Why.. I want Sam as our manager

Excellent analysis.

Big Sam isn't Simeone but he's also not Dyche.

What? A good manager who has built a team up with next-to-nothing and has somehow established Burnley as a comfortable Premier League side?

Dyche should have been our first port of call. Long before we went crawling back to Sam ffs.

And Dyche isn't a 'long ball' manager. He just knows how to use the players he has available.

And this will be our target from no until the day he leaves. we will not punch any further up the table with him in charge.

I'm not disagreeing Chaz.

But this is where we find ourselves so ultimately we're all now gonna have to roll with it aren't we.

We're a shambles.

I'm not having any of this 'it's only November', [Poor language removed]. And I'm a positive person.

We're crap. We're the least functioning team in the league at the moment so I'm putting any expectations or aspirations of top six way out of my mind for now.

This season has become all about getting as far away as those relegation places as is feasible in the time we have left. We need another 28 points to 'guarantee' safety.

We've scored 13 league goals this season so far, and conceded what, 28?

Stay up. Get to the summer, and reassess.

It shouldn't have come to this. We should have had 2-3 targets fully lined up and ready to sign before we sacked Koeman.

But we didn't, and this is where we've ended up.

Basically, I'm not looking further down the line than the next game.

I don't care if any of our players leave as to be quite frank they're bang average. So I just want us to stay up and rebuild again.

Rebuild with Sam in charge tho mate?

because to remove him and his staff at any point its going to cost north of £25m....

The lack of foresight from the board is absolutely soul destroying, with this appointment, looking at the big picture they have ruined more then they realise.

Bramley Moore? as if.

We'll see what happens mate.

I'm not focused on anything but the present.

Unfortunately the present situation is we have the worse defence in the league (weirdly enough, Moshiri's prime target - Silva - is in charge of the team with the second-worst defence, go figure) and we are in a desperate situation.

We need to stop conceding.

From that we can move forward.

I'd have been happy with Silva, happy with Dyche, happy with anyone other than Sam that we could have appointed 4-5 weeks ago.

But we've got ourselves into this situation so we now have to realise our current standing.

16th. 13 games played having conceded 28 goals and scored 13. Massive issues all over the park.

If it means getting Sam in to try (and it's not a guarantee) salvage something, then so be it. He may feel he can push this squad on.

If it means costing £25m to get rid - which it won't, btw. I'm pretty sure that any contract will have lots of clauses in it that can be triggered should we wish so - then that's what'll have to happen. It's pittance in comparison to what potentially falling out of the league would do to us.

As long as we stay in the Premier League, Bramley Moore is a reality.

If we fall out of it, it ain't happening. End of.

We are in a desperate situation, I agree on that much.

Big sam is a guarantee of absolutely nothing. said it once ill say it a million times he is never the answer to any questions posed by our club.

Relegation fight or not - better managers have pulled teams up, and so have worse (Di Canio)... there is no excuse for this appointment but the board being utter shithouses and not planning properly.

Also - I dont see how Sam will change this team, stop conceding with the players on the squad list... the team are in no way shape or form set up for Sams style of play.

But neither were Sunderland yet he did sort them out, and it wasn't just because of signings.

It took him 3-4 weeks but - like Hodgson at Palace - he sorted the side out simply in terms of organisation.

If a side is organised - any side - they can at the very least keep out the opposition. It doesn't matter if they don't exactly fit the manager's style, because it's not about that at this stage. It's about structure and working as a unit - something we simply don't do.

Wasn't his record 1 win in 11 when he took over Sunderland?

1. It might lead to us adopting a novel concept called ‘defending.’
2. It’ll let Unsworth go back to doing what he does well.
3. The drama queens of the club will be out pronto.
4. It gives us a cat in hells chance of staying in the premier league.
5. It might stop the sickening love in on Everton social media about ‘our’ boys.
6. We will sign a striker. He won’t be a technically gifted lad but he will score goals.
7. It makes the super fans who get a semi on watching Portuguese football sad.
8. It will be nice to have a manager that was aware of our existence last time we won something.
9. Might bin off the dross.
10. Experienced international manager.
11. No more John Ebbrell on the bench.
12. Has no ambitions of managing Barcelona.
13. Can dance better than Martinez.

What are yours?
P 13, GD -15, Pts 12.

Dyche got Burnley relegated three years ago. And he'll probably do so again next season.
