“Fans” that won’t support us if we get Allardyce

He's our manager now, so we support him and little sam (he's surprised me, or he's a good actor, by the way he is on the touchline).
Like we didn't think Unsworth would get the job, I doubt he'll stay until next season but, who knows?
We'll finish 7th (as we would've anyway), so it depends on winning the FA Cup and/or people not being bothered about the style of play, as long as we can 'put up a good fight' against the better teams.
?

That's not the issue here TadFrandel. Support him, don't support him - that's everyone's prerogative. But to have slated him for weeks, then put a little snidey comment in and then slating the fans who remain steadfast in their belief when you think no one has noticed... nah. Got to be called on that.

It's like any number of threads.

I think people are missing the point with why some fans are still appalled that Allardyce is our manager.

I think it comes down to what cost are you willing to accept for a modicum of 'success', with apparently staying in the league being success in this instance.

For many, having the figurehead of the club as a proven crook isn't a price worth paying for a club of our tradition, especially when many of us didn't actually think relegation was a serious possibility anyway.

It's hard to say whether that is an overblown view to have with Allardyce, but a fact is a fact - the man is a crook. Add to that bringing in a Kopite as an assistant and it's a bitter pill to swallow.

For me personally, I find the fact he's here distasteful, but if his transfers are handled by third parties and carefully vetted then like everyone he deserves a second chance (despite no remorse whatsoever for his actions, but hey ho.)

But I do and always did think that hiring him was completely unnecessary and fuelled by panic. What's done is done - whether you felt Allardyce as Everton manager to be abhorrent, at this point I'd suggest just giving him a second chance and the opportunity to win you over with what he does now rather than what he's done in the past. And that includes whether you have reservations about his football - give him 12 months and see what he does in charge of a talented squad for a change. If he's rubbish, he's gone - if not, you're pleasantly surprised. Win win.

A very sensible assessment, Tubey and one which I think reflects the general view of people on GOT and in Evertonia at large ;)

On the assumption you are still obsessing about me and still smarting from our earlier exchange, I can only say your attempts to "call" me succeeded only in making you look a fool.

But I think you realise this your own self orly, hence you trying to make a "snidey little comment" without tagging me in the hope ol' Khal might not have "noticed" it.

Now....about Sam Allardyce.

I don't think anyone can deny he has made a splendid start to his tenure as Everton manager and we all hope it can continue.

Can we ;)

Do you reckon he'd play Deulofeu?

You know, I think he might have, Tad.

Particularly if he goes for a big target man in January.....we have not had a better deliverer of a ball to such a player since Andy Hinchcliff and before that Dave Thomas.

Sadly, the question is moot thanks to Koeman

Both, left sided and the only recent comparable player is Baines, not part of this so moving on..

He's available in Jan and apparently we have first dibs on him so, who knows?
We won't sign him though because SA is playing like RK, only he's playing a more settled side playing players where they should be played.

I think it’s cute that people have this faux distaste for him as he’s “corrupt”. He’s football’s Weinstein(not in a molesty way), everyone’s doing what he got caught doing but somehow he’s the only dirty one.
If you don’t think potato head and brown shows had their palms greased then you’re wonderfully naive

I have to admit I didn’t want big Sam but can’t knock the results so far he’s been getting us , we will see where we’re tho when we play some harder games , but all in all great start for the greedy man

Oh no I did know you'd notice. We can also see your cringey kissing up to people again looking for support.... but the vaults showed you right up as the tremendous fraud that you are. Not just a fraud, but a cowardly one who slated good people for having the guts to stick up for their principles.

I notice one or two others called you out on it too. Oh dear.

We know your opinions on Allardyce because you wrote about them before he joined.... and now you're changing them to get in with the current consensus.

Oh dear.

Our fanbase flip flops like no other.

After Unsworths first press conference " The passion, give him the job he will do great " and then a few weeks later they all turned on him.

The original Morgan thread and this seasons one show the level of how two faced some of our so called fans are.

We can't be completely intransigent otherwise there'd be no quality vaulting.
