I see establishment sciolist Dickie Masters is on about footballers ‘taking the knee’ again in the name of BHM / No Room for Racism.

Is this a useful tool, a noble stance, a middle aged white blokes misguided fumble or just plain old virtue signalling?
Are footballers even on the same page as the general public on this matter?

Racism of course has no place in society let alone at football matches, but this gesture feels a bit off the mark to me.
When social media companies pretty much empower people via anonymity, I’m unconvinced football is the place to lead by example on these matters, at least not in this way.
The EPL and FA for me, show their true colours when there’s an actual case to answer, they simply put their heads in the sand and hope it goes away.
Don’t know what the answer is or what would be a more effective campaign. Maybe allow special ‘one off’ away kits in Oct to raise awareness with revenue / profit going to appropriate charities in support of aligned causes 🤷‍♂️

Not sure it makes any difference apart from highlighting the issue. You often hear calls to educate racists. I can’t see how that would make a significant impact either as in my view a racist will not change. I believe we are stuck with it unfortunately

Are other malor leagues in other countries also doing this?
Is this the PL thinking (still) it's something it isn't?
Would it have more (any) impact if fans in the stadiums joined in, or would this be regarded as a H&S issue?

It has lost the power it had...after about three matches. I struggle now with groups being identified in this way. Human rights matter and if you are trans, black, gay, hetro, etc. You are a person who deserves respect. One group deserves no more than another and this is what alienates a lot of people. Race and Gender quickly become industries of the offended. All lives matter and we all have individual and collective needs regardless of race or sexuality.

And get racially abused for doing it. But they get paid millions so just deal with it?
Absolutely not - kick those morons permenantly out of the stadium. Sanctions against the guilty will always be better than removing free will, forcing employees into virtue signalling and delaying what thousands of innocent blameless people have turned up to watch.

Impossible for fans to kneel down in the stadium unless you're about 6 years old. 🤣
