Baines is irreplaceable - hes english and a rare find .......... IF?????????? we sell him it better be for mega-bucks to make the Lescott deal look like chicken feed. but fck the money -hes ace and i hope he stays

Baines / Jagielka / Coleman (with one young central defender added)

Rodwell + Fellaini in centre midfield

2 fast young wide players

1 quality young forward

And we can have some fun....

The only way Baines should be sold is 'IF' we can buy 2 Left backs and a world class young player for one of the other positions.

The next question would be 'what if' we were offered 75mil for Baines/Rodwell and Fellaini + sold our fringe players.....

What would Moyes do........?

no chance, Bill would not pump that money back into the transfer " warchest" and if you consider baines to be one of the top 5 left backs playing in european football which

I do then could you see 1 of the other 4 joining us?

I can't

keep him he is worth 20p goals a season in terms of assists and goals scored

Yeah you'd have an equal replacement at lb defensive wise.

You'd have a left winger who could beat a man and cross a ball (which we don't have now)

And you'd have a striker who can score goals (lets just say Demba Ba for example as we've been linked)

As opposed to Baines at lb, Bily at lw and Anichebe at striker.

You don't think that makes us a stronger team in any way?

As i've said though, its a risk and not guaranteed. But its something we as a club may well have to do in our position.

Sure he has been important for us goals wise, but if we could spread those goals and assists over 3 new players we would have a bigger squad which helps when we get an injury crisis. Plus we wouldn'y **** our pants if one player got injured.

We've coped with losing players before, we coped with losing Cahill for most of the second half of the season when if you believe certain people he was our best player in the first half.

That makes sense mate. The whole three 5/10 players analogy didn't though. Trading one class player for 3 average ones would be a bad move. Unless 5/10 constitutes a good player in your weird ranking system.

I'd sell Baines, Fellaini and Rodwell while they are at their peak transfer market value and/or before they kick off, hand in a transfer request and significantly reduce that value.

Get anywhere close to £60m for those three we'd have done well and use it to do some proper restructuring, which is exactly what this squad needs, i stand by that.

I'm good with possibly one but all three?

Stay off the drugs son. They aren't good for you.

Of those 3 I'd rather sell Fellaini. He's a good footballplayer, but he's injured fairly often.

The ones I'd be sad to see leave, but would seriously consider selling if we got a good enough offer are Fellaini and Bilyaletdinov. Both are good players, but not that hard to replace with a player of similar qualities. Or perhaps with other qualities that fit the team better. Gravesen -> Arteta is an example of what I mean.
