Even underdogs win sometimes....

Yep. See the other thread and our record against the top 6.

I have no problem even saying that most years the RS has a better squad and better individual talent.

The results would suggest there is something far more going on than just money and talent. I mean yesterday was just awful. Not a single player turned up. Happens all the time in this fixture.

Yep. Said something similar earlier. We just don't believe we can beat them. There's teams all over Europe who beat the big boys with a fraction of their wages.

How so? Millwall's wage budget is almost half the size of ours.
We're well able to match the wages they pay lad. Wages don't make you show heart guts passion n desire against your local rivals. That comes from within. We've had really bad teams not so long ago yet still went out on Derby day n showed those qualities n got results against them. Wages r really not the issue. And btw millwalls wage bill is about a fifth of ours.

For the past few weeks, all I've been reading on here is that the power shift is changing, that their players aren't that good, they only have one way of playing, that, man for man we are the better team. Now? they're better than us because they have a higher wage bill? Sturridge is on nearly double what Lukaku is on, who's the better player? Is Lovren better than Williams or Jags? Moreno better than our 2nd choice LB? Lucas better than Barry, Gueye or Schneids? Ditto Wijnaldum, Clyne better than Seamus? They have an aging Midfielder at LB, Henderson is an important player for them FFS, Coutinho has 1 good game in 10, that Firmino isn't very good. Only Mane looks like a class player to me. not sure you can use the wage bill,as an excuse when you see some of the wages they pay to 2nd rate players.

A squad that earns more doesn't mean it's better it may just mean they are overpaid for what they actually are

However the point I think your trying to make is that Liverpool have better financial resources than we do and can attract better quality players

The reason Liverpool do well is that they sign young players and ones in their mid twenties who are more or less peaking or about to peak. Therefore they can build a strong side and don't need to replace players in the long term. We seem to do the opposite and sign older players who are in decline
