    With constant VAR checks, 5 subs rule, injuries and time wasting, is it not time that the ref can stop the clock like in rugby for the delay? Extra time is often never less than five minutes now … and often 8 if it’s the RS I would even be in favour of a hooter at the end of each 45 minutes...

    Now I do like it when a ref plays “advantage” following a foul but I struggle to understand why the ref doesn’t call back play for a free kick if advantage doesn’t accrue within, say, 10-15 seconds. If that’s going to be the case, don’t play advantage at all?
