Works for Chelsea in the three CB setup. It's not the only way to skin the cat in the middle of the pitch, but it's one proven way.
Obviously I would prefer the younger player, as most likely it results in either the center of the pitch being settled for a good long time or profitable player flips. I doubt that there's a way to make the math work and still solve the striker problem unless we have a conditional loan deal already lined up for a striker, but you never know.
