…he knows he’s well thought of, he’s in and around the first team. he’s been offered a deal that could set him up for life, he’s settled in the area and knows the club and it’s personnel.

A move is a bit like starting off and proving yourself again, a youngster might not settle in new surroundings with new coaches and teammates.

Key issue here, though, is finance and he’s clearly getting the deal he was holding out for. He’ll now be a very wealthy young man.

Benitez then started the talks that reopened with Dobbin and his agent, today was the fulfilment of those talks with the chairman getting the credit for the deal when in reality he, most probably just put the signing off touches to the deal.

What you think the club down to the youth coach's didn't mention or talk about his contract prior to fat man?

Id almost gaurentee if he had stayed and continued to play rondon ahead of him he wouldn't have signed a new contract.

I read it that he's had reassurances, yes. Lampard seems the most likely candidate to make a kid want to sign on again.
