2025/26 Tim Iroegbunam

If we have any aspirations of playing in Europe every year and finally winning something then we'll need better options than those.

It'll take time to rebuild the squad, but I wouldn't want any of them, perhaps with the exception of KDH, to be starting games for us every week in 2 years time.
Garner has been one of the best midfielders in the league this season and Iroegbunam has really kicked on.
Rohl still only 23 and Armstrong just 18. We should be excited to see where this current group of Midfielders can get to in a couple of years!

He might have the highest potential of anyone in the squad. Most of his flaws can be technically coached out of him. He is almost impossible to stop once he gets by you on the dribble and he is capable of some of the most insane tackles you will see. He has tools to work with. Has to be coached properly
Agree with this.

The potential is absolutely there - if he can stay fit and remains willing to learn, he could be an absolutely top-class midfielder.

Really looking forward to watching his development.

This was exactly why I posted this last season:

To be fair there wasn't exactly a lot of competition in the squad at that point, but I totally agree. It's still a big if, and maybe Forest was a one off or a rare performance, but that was the first time I thought oh, he might actually do it. If he puts it all together regularly he can be a player that you simply can't deal with in midfield.

He does two things extremely well. Winning the ball back and carrying it.

Yes. He's always been amazing at winning the ball and good at carrying it and bad at passing it, but recently it feels like he's gone up a gear on-ball and is suddenly excellent at carrying it and decent at passing it. That's a frighteningly good profile.

Another thing I noticed is he's started to put all those things together more - win the ball and immediately drive it up the pitch or pass it forwards to someone. It creates an instant counterattack out of nowhere and takes multiple players out very quickly which is insanely valuable for a team that struggles to create good chances usually

Just coming in with more Tim propaganda:

No one in the prem - among all midfielders - is doing it like him when it comes to winning the ball. Highest percentage and second highest volume is crazy.

If he permanently unlocks this new level of quality in-possession too that he showed against Forest then I'm officially excited

He's got to improve his passing. When he does that then i'll get excited.

KDH, Garner, Armstrong & Iroegbunam would all almost definitely be starting games in 2 years time.

Why wouldnt you want that?
