January Transfer Window 2026

We are to slow getting up the pitch for any forward to get good numbers.
It's been a problem even before this season.
leaving a loan striker up on his own isnt going to get much in the way of a good scoring record.
We don't have players around them especially out wide to join them or take the defensive players away from them, how many times do we see two central defenders agaist are number 9?
Barry will need a bit of time to settle, its a new league different country ect,
When you see him playing for France under 21 he wasn't a traditional number 9 as we are playing him, he was coming from a wider position and arriving in the box, so he will have to learn how we want him to play.
Far to early to right him off.
Decent fullbacks with a bit of pace and a fast wide player would help a lot

This really, It was why I wanted us to push for Fatawu of Leicester over Dibling (we were linked and enquired but didn't push anything) he is more of a Doku type winger but on the right, I still think we should sign him as long term I don't see Tyler as a wide player. The full back thing is just self explanatory really, we seem to have been kicking that can down the road for years now.

Bournemouth linked with Fatawa this morning .
Dibling looks like he will play as a 10 at some piont.

McNeil, Beto and Barry best have been touted to any and all agents for reasonable fees, around £5m, £5m and £10m respectivly would be sensible.

Ok—but deffo sell the other two. They offer absolutely nothing and we need better.

The reality is, we can't sell Barry unless someone comes in with £18 million so we're stuck with him. Beto we should just cut our losses and get what we can from an Italian club. We should be able to get £5-£8 million for McNeil unless he's on silly wages. If we got £23 million we could at least loan a striker and make a down payment on a decent right back.

No idea where these numbers are coming from but this would mean a large PSR loss.

A player would then need to be sold at a profit to cover the loss.

Not a good idea.

RB and ST in the first week in January please......

We have such a good run over the next 5-6 weeks, could really define our season.

We waste this with the 'go with what we have got' would be criminal.

I know we have progressed slightly since previous seasons, but surely with the right 2 signings we could easily push on.

Well apparently we had £200m to spend in the summer and spent somewhere between c£100m-c£145m depending upon interpretation. That leaves at least £55m for this window including interest at say 3.5pc so that’s a minimum of just shy of £56m to spend before sales.
Absolutely no excuse why we can’t buy a decent number of new players with that kitty (apart from the reasons I speculated upon in my last post).

The i-news site has said were after 2-3 loans.

Any permanent signings will only be for the first 11 or top young players. This would be for 'the right price'.

They prefer to only use loans so they can "go again" in the summer.

Apparently we want Grealish permanently despite him pretty much downing tools for 2 months, compared with his first games.

Also were linked with Mainoo and Zirkzee again.

Moyes needs to have some bollocks and tell Ndiaye and Grielish to get it in the box quicker aswell. Both brilliant players of course but taking far too many touches

This is the thing. We play tippy tappy with Grealish and KDH.

Or its clear players are being told the first priority is to not lose the ball. See Alcaraz (making him worse) and Dibling (different to his southampton mindset).

Slow ponderous play with players frightened to try anything. That doesnt change with players who are faster.
