January Transfer Window 2026

Team is desperate for proper fullbacks, who can attack.

We have possibly the two worst fullbacks in the league for actual attacking intent, mykolenko tries but he is not capable of any form of consistent attacking threat he is not comfortable in that area and it massively weakens any attacking threat.

It won't matter what striker we have until the fullback issue is addressed.

It has to be the priority.

McNeil, Beto and Barry best have been touted to any and all agents for reasonable fees, around £5m, £5m and £10m respectivly would be sensible.
Except it wouldn’t be sensible. It would be huge psr losses on Beto and Barry. They are also worth much more than that.

Rather than deciding Barry is a failure already, why not wait until we play a bit more to his strengths and he has had a realistic amount of time to settle. He has played for 5 clubs in different countries in 5 years, that can’t be easy to adapt to for a young person. Same way DCL is currently thriving at Leeds yet struggled here when we were just punting it long to him.

We have no overlapping fullbacks. And very little pace, let’s get the squad rebuild further along before deciding he is a failure.

Ok—but deffo sell the other two. They offer absolutely nothing and we need better.

PSR still a thing ?

The reality is, we can't sell Barry unless someone comes in with £18 million so we're stuck with him. Beto we should just cut our losses and get what we can from an Italian club. We should be able to get £5-£8 million for McNeil unless he's on silly wages. If we got £23 million we could at least loan a striker and make a down payment on a decent right back.

Well apparently we had £200m to spend in the summer and spent somewhere between c£100m-c£145m depending upon interpretation. That leaves at least £55m for this window including interest at say 3.5pc so that’s a minimum of just shy of £56m to spend before sales.
Absolutely no excuse why we can’t buy a decent number of new players with that kitty (apart from the reasons I speculated upon in my last post).

I would have been circulating the names of Patterson, McNeil and Beto for a sale with the view of the deals being completed after AFCON.

Tying up loan deals for Aznou, leaving Armstrong where he is.

What is the point of Coleman and King, they are expensive dressing room cheer leaders.

In's for me would be RB, LB, CM & ST - 4 out and 4 in.

I know.... not likely to get 4, but we can hope.

Don't forget Mykolenko is out of contract in the summer, could he be moved on if there was an offer?

Nah Moyes will give Mykolenko a new deal

No one can tell me that in the whole football world there’s not a right back & striker available to loan that are better than what we have currently.

When you look at the standard of this league currently, we could easily scrape into a Europe slot with our best players back. It would be a waste to write the season off.

I agree with others though, should be loans. Get to the end of the season, bin moyes & get the recruitment side sorted.

There will be but we have a manager who prefers 'PL experience' in players which instantly cuts your market options down massively. We have recently seen a link to a Brazilian RB playing in Brazil why? because he previously played for Burnley for a season and has the magic 'PL experience'

Exactly, it not like we have a prime Pirlo dropping through balls onto his toe every five minutes, or a prime Davy Thomas deadly whipping crosses in to the box? I think all players need a run of starts before they can be judged, but we Evertonian’s aren't the most patient of fanbases are we? For example I think the reason DCL is having a good spell at Leeds is he has a couple of decent wingers and over lapping fullbacks whipping balls in for him. I think Barry playing for Leeds would score more, we are crap without Ndiaye and KDH, but with a few purchases in January (hopefully 2 shiny new fullbacks) I think we will see a much better return in the second half of the season.

Yep I still support him with the notion he'll continue to develop into a quality player , you post about him incessantly , every time the same criticism so it becomes redundant

When was the last time I posted about him ?

Maybe look back how much i post about him, other than the one day the other week when we clashed.
I also said I'll leave it at that, which I did.
So not sure what your talking about!!

Also if you want to bring it up, tell me where I have been wrong about the player.

If you refuse to see it, that's up to you..

To be fair I said the exact same thing in June, and look where we are 😂
