Yeah, saw it on MOTD , defo deflection , we still need a new striker though I'm afraidSanchez definitely deflected the ball away.
Hmmm not sure how long we can keep using the 'developing' tag. He's 23 not 18, has played ~120 games before coming here not 12. Adapting to a new league or new teammates or new country may be a fair shout, but then same goes for Woltemade and Ekitike and Igor Thiago and they don't seem to have a problem. Just doesn't look like a great natural finisher to me, but he'll clearly get the full season to see if he can develop and improve.Hes developing. But we don't help him, we are slow and ponderous at getting the ball forward and making chances, which means zero space for a striker - that's despite having good creative players now.
Still going to back him as whatever happens still has the rest of the season to show is good enough to be here. Do expect more from him and this will only get higher when we go into next season. Problem is us not having a first choice cf or well many goals at the top of the pitchAnyone out there still backing and making excuses for this lad please stop because you're making yourself look very silly.
Yup, I suppose going from 0 goals all season to 1 goal all season technically does count as 'improvement'. Was hoping for a few more, mind.I’ve genuinely seen improvement over the last month or so.
However that improvement has been the absolute minimum basics required of a professional footballer.
The lad is out of his depth.
Would argue ekitike and woltermade at better clubs with better players so create more. Also thiago been at brentford for awhile now even after his injury. 100% agree on some of his finishing needs to improve. Sure the same was said about his last club started off slow then ended up finishing the season strong. Might be the same case againHmmm not sure how long we can keep using the 'developing' tag. Maybe. If he [somehow!] finishes the season with 10-12 goals that would be a decent return for a "young" player's first sesaon in the Prem. We could have peak Zidane putting them on a plate, if a striker can't finish it doesn't make any difference how creative the team is, but then that's probably why Ekitike and Woltemade cost about £70m each and our guy was less than half of that.Would argue ekitike and woltermade at better clubs with better players so create more. The guy is first choice striker, has played the vast majority of games so far, and is on 1 goal almost half way through the season, having missed a number of easy-looking chances in a few previous games. It's hardly beating him to give fair criticism to that picture.Yeah it was literally taken out of his path at the last minute by goalkeepers touch.
Some people have just made up their minds about him and like to beat him with every stick they can.
May aswell get behind a young guy in a new country and adapt to a physical league.Anyone out there still backing and making excuses for this lad please stop because you're making yourself look very silly.

At least supporting him might improve his confidence.
Always a race to write people off. Great supporters.
The improvement is infinite, mathematically speakingYup, I suppose going from 0 goals all season to 1 goal all season technically does count as 'improvement'.
Well, aye..Was hoping for a few more, mind.
