2025/26 David Moyes

I judge by quality of squad and that £110M spent has allowed (along with bringing in duds like Barry) KDH and Grealish to come in and revolutionise the way we play.

We're not the same limited team we were last season and it took a lot of cash to make that happen. I shudder to think what the Grealish deal's costing in wages, for example.
Regarding Barry , I know where your coming from but I usually give it time. I remember pienaar was dubbed a poor mans Ossie , Warzycha the next Tricky Trev etc, but im not hopeful.

Looks like we'll be down to the bare bones again next week and thats where Moyes usually earns his money.

We'll definitely be without Gueye, Ndiaye and KDH, possibly even Grealish ao that gives him midfield options of Garner and Tim and wide options of Mcneil and Dibling
If we have to play Tom king midfield though we should still be favourites to beat the league leaders though.

Needs a lot of time to develop Barry, and the PL is not the best one for a CF to learn on the job. You have to score or you sink like a stone.

Perfect blend, game under the lights, crowd in the Christmas spirit and the squad stretched = players running through brick, scoring from out of nowhere and JP having a worldie to make Mikel cry post match

That's the third game I can think of against a so called better team when we have gifted them the points without them impressing and in gneral play we look at least their equal. Spurs, journo killers and now chelsea, a trend we need to reverse and getting past obvious weak links like myko would definately help. As well as Keane has done (and he has done really well) a bit of pace in the center really puts out a lot of potential danger from the oppo.
3 hoodoo away games in a row, 2 of them we cleared..

The only loss I'd forgive is when we're shorn of talent against a club that's steam-rollering all the teams they face. Even without Ndiaye and KDH to call on does that describe this Everton team? And does that describe this Arsenal team at the moment?

By the way, I will forgive a loss if next week it's a very tight game that we lose by an outrageous referring mistake or we play very well but just come up short.

As things stand though I look at the way Arsenal are playing right now and the way we are, even yesterday, and see next week's game as too close to call. That's a bit different than you and others who seem more interested in throwing a protective arm around the manager and excusing any performance to come next week.
Contradictive dribble.. 🥱

No I'm just focused on your clear hypocrisy when it comes to Moyes v Dyche and how you judge them. You forgave plenty of shocking performances by Dyche, including about 13 odd games where we didn't even score. Only a contrarian for the sake of it would say we aren't better off under Moyes when every metric points to the fact we are.

Comparing Dyche with Moyes' time here is preposterous. Dyche didn't get the 4th biggest net spend in the PL in any summer he was here.

How many players went out the door? Ignoring that is preposterous. Chelsea spent more on just 2 of their new players to add to the horde and one of ours barely played 10min yesterday. But still you go on with your Moyes this moyes that. It's bitter waffling not backed up by anything tangible nor fairly weighted evidence.

Forget Dyche versus Moyes because Moyes clearly has a better team and it’s not a like for like comparison but this 4th biggest net spend really doesn’t tell the whole story

We had consistently spent nothing for years and one summer doesn’t fix a whole squad

Now take into account that the big money was actually spent on future prospects and only a minimal amount was spent on fixing now - Grealish loan and KDH

Now add that our best player (Branthwaite) has been injured all season and we’ve had to play Keane who looked calamitous for years prior

That is why I think Moyes has done a good job getting the points he has. Our squad quality is probably lower mid table and he’s out performing that versus Dyche having a squad that was probably in the bottom five and not which is why he asked to be sacked

This is starting to annoy me a bit. His knife to a gun fight attitude which seemed to have been tempered at the start of this season is creeping back in
I think it’s fair for him to make that comment in terms of Chelsea. They’ve bypassed the Profit and sustainability rules and hoarded hundreds of millions of pounds worth of talent. He’ll get no sympathy from me making those comments once he’s had a couple more transfer windows mind you!

In Dyche's period in charge 21 squad players left; 11 came in.

This summer under Moyes saw 4 leaving and 8 coming in.

I dont accept our squad quality is bottom half of the table. No chance.

And so what if Moyes didn't utlilise the £110M he had wisely. He still spent it. If he had half a clue what a decent striker looks like...and in his first time here he was notoriously 💩 at buying them...we'd be knocking on the door of top 4 at least.

He's done ok. We're top half where we should be. That's as much as can be claimed, so far. If we stay there he should keep his job. If not he should be sacked. I've said that from day one of the season and I wont deviate from it.
