Moyes signed the 9.

Moyes changed a winning team to include a player responsible for both goals.

Moyes has misused KDH as a 10 and misused Alcaraz almost an entire calendar year...not to mention Dibling.

If he cant get europe and cant develop players by giving them games over underperforming pets of his then he doesnt add enough value.
Mate, you do realise we had to replace NINE players in one window?

That still we lack a full back worthy of the name on either side?

That those missing full backs is not only like playing with one hand tied behind our backs, it’s knock on effects on both tactics and player performance in other positions suffers both from their absence but also the shuffling to try and fill those voids

Think the bloke’s performed miracles to have us where we are

He will need to prove to be a magician over the next few weeks given that I’m not sure we will even fill the bench before February

Jesus man - we are about 6-10 points from safety in mid December…. That’sa biblical improvement over where we have been

I'm not sure where ive said hes not getting the results overall?

What ive said is that he signed the 9 who people are blaming for not scoring. Hes also signed a RW we wanted and a LB many want but doesnt play them.

Hes had opportunities to sign RBs over 2 windows and chosen not to.

The bloke isnt infallible and has made some pretty big errors of judgement.

He needs to overperform this season if hes not going to stick with winning teams or develop young players over experienced ones.

We had chances but couldn't score. Made tactical mistakes that gave them counter attacks. Made defensive errors that allowed them to score. An injury to a key player to round off the day.

Not a terrible performance but poor where it matters and you don't win games with bad defending and bad finishing. No excuse not to get at least a goal today. People need to put their hand up and take responsibility to put the ball in the net.

Shitepool spent almost the same amount on one player. We're doing ok for our outlay. No 'kin perspective anymore.
Yeah, we're doing okay. So what? The point is: the last few seasons are not normal seasons by which we should be judging progress. They are seasons when we were in complete crisis and financial meltdown because of our ownership. We are no longer in that situation. So, we're doing better than last year. So what? We should be after spending 120m and acquiring Jack Grealish. Are we doing so much better that we should stick with the current manager next summer? I would say no - but I would also be the first to say we should stick with him if he overachieves this season - which would be Europe for me. I see no reason to stick with him if we finish, say, 12th - which is around where I expect us to be come May.

I thought we played well enough to get at least a draw out of the game. But for some rank bad defending and inability to score we controlled the game for the most part. Even though some of our players were awful, ie. Barry and Alcaraz, my god.

Europe !!! Definitely don't need this, not enough squad depth and quality in key areas, massive swerve for me.
This will be the last time - hopefully - that I will agree with this sentiment. We are clearly in a squad-building phase, but we HAVE to be building a squad that can handle Europe. Otherwise, we've no future as a club. Europe will likely be a year too soon, but if we do what we need to do this summer and next, then Europe needs to be the baseline for this club.

It depends what the owners are aiming for this season though. Are they aiming for Europe or are they aiming for a solid mid table season looking to build further in the summer? Moyes will probably know what their aim is and if he meets their target, why would they get rid of him unless another manager they like is available.

Of course. I suspect the fans are a little bit ahead of the owners on Moyes, though. We know what he is and isn't capable of. The owners might be very satisfied with him, and mid-table might be fine for them this season. If they are, I think they'll prove to be transitional owners - necessary for stabilising us, but bereft of real ambition, and whose main intention is to flip the club (stadium) when the opportune moment comes.

Some people convince themselves that these owners will sack if Moyes is not top half. I see no evidence for that. As keen as I am to see a new manager in the summer backed by serious ambition, I strongly suspect Moyes will hang on as these guys are happy with nursing their investment in mid-table obscurity. If they are truly ambitious, I think they'll make a change in the summer or risk being very disappointed with Moyes in time.

You do understand we get a summer transfer window to address the issues you have highlighted don’t you mate?

We don’t have to play with the current squad which clearly has its problems.

With the league as bang average as it is, we should absolutely be targeting Europe THIS season, whatever euro comp we can qualify for.

That’s what makes today’s result and overall performance so frustrating - Chelsea are not that good, there was a result there with a little more belief from the manager and players.

We might as well just jack it in with your attitude.
