The Flu

Get exercising to get that gunk out of your chest. A daily 30min brisk walk will do the trick.

I won my be getting any of those jibber jabbers again. Not when Big Pharma is profiting from it.

Good to hear you’re on the mend though. I think I got it as a result of the kids going back to school. Those places are just a massive Petrie dish in September. And not a dot of anti-bac soap or gel about the place.
If he has the flu he's not gonna be having 30 mins of walking a day

Anybody had it ? Anybody got it ? I've had it for a nearly a week, paying through the nose for cold 'remedies' which, if they've had any effect, is about as noticeable as a Moyes attacking plan against the top teams. I could fill a reservoir with the phlegm I've coughed up.

The doctor's sage advice was to keep warm, drink lots of fluids, and finished with, there's a lot of it around - thanks a bunch. So, alternative remedies would be most appreciated, providing of course they work, and don't involve eating raw eggs and the like.
Well, if you’re going to get a nasal spray, get one that has epinephrine in it…

It might not cure your flu, but at least you’ll have a bit of fun! 😜

Seems to be a few bugs going around and I think I had the same as you on the weekend.

The symptoms were like a mild cold (Not the flu, I've had the flu before and it's no joke)

Mild sore throat, cough & a bit of a temperature. Normal circumstances I'd dose up on over the counter meds and power through it, but this one seemed to sap me of all energy for several days. I spent all of Friday in bed asleep. I'd get up every few hours to chug a pint of water and use the bathroom and it usually took me a minute or 2 to get steady on my feet.
Saturday, I was a bit more alive, but a 10 minute round trip to the chemists felt like a marathon and I was soaked in a cold sweat and completely out of breath by the time I got back. Didn't start feeling completely human again until Sunday night.

Feeling mostly OK now, but still have a very mild but persistent cough that doesn't seem to be clearing.

Booked in to see my GP next week for a flu shot as I don't wanna be taken out by that as well

I'm on holiday in the Med at the minute, had a mild sore throat and stuffed nose yesterday and slept for a full on 13 hours. Mrs thinks I'm just being lazy and trying to avoid taking the kids to the beach. When you've been asleep for 13 hours and she asks "how are you feeling?" "yeh, alright apart from having an extremely mild cold" is definitely not the right answer. I'm so glad that someone else has had the same experience!

Had the flu once. Beat it by lying on the sofa watching snooker and drinking tea, by which I mean spent 6 days shivering uncontrollably and in pain from every nerve on my body, willing a quick death.

Couple of spliffs for the aches and pains.
Dram of single malt for the headaches.
Hot bath with some Olbas oil, then bed.

Sleep well 😴
Actual flu is about as ill as I can remember being. Constant, severe shivers, cough that felt like barbed wire being pulled through my chest, and my whole body felt agonising, like my bones were all grinding together or something. Awful.

Damn near killed me smoking, but I've got to agree, managing a spliff or two and a hot whisky when I could manage to get out of bed was about the only thing that made me feel a bit better.

Think I had Covid a few weeks ago but who knows. Off work as it floored me for 2 days and then had the razor throat and all other symptoms for like a week after.

The kool&soothe migraine cooling strips were amazing and really helped my banging head.

Just had my flu jab this morning.
I found with Covid caught it once - after all the jabs - it was like the flu - but cleared up after 7 days for one day - then returned with vengeance for another week like that for almost 4 weeks -
The flu virus is bad if it attacks your body & high temperature - then the nasty throat cold cough symptoms start - I have the jab touch wood not had an attack for an age .....
