We are not a top team yet. We've been fighting relegation for years. Excellent strikers don't grow on trees and would rather sit on a top 4 bench.

We did try over the summer, the Delap one hurt the most I think, he chose a bench rather than games which is disappointing. I think Barry will come good long term. I don't think in the summer we were an attractive proposition for any striker with an inch of talent, forwards come to die here, but look at how we are playing this season, I think it will be far easier for a quality forward to look at Grealish, KDH, Ndaiye etc and want to be on the end of that rather than Doucoure and Harrison.

Not scouted thoroughly to systems OR can't hack it in the Prem. But surely we could have done better than Beto and Barry to lead the line for goals. As for Delap - Am not convinced.

Not scouted thoroughly to systems OR can't hack it in the Prem. But surely we could have done better than Beto and Barry to lead the line for goals. As for Delap - Not convinced.

Beto had a fantastic goalscoring record since Moyes took over, the hope is he would continue that, and he seems the type to go through purple patches and then be anonymous. He won't be here next summer. Barry hasn't had enough time for me to form an opinion. People say we could have done better, but I just don't see any strikers out there at the level befitting us. We forgo our midfield we signed for an expensive striker with no service, what's the point? We clearly reached the max of our budget because Rohl isn't being paid for till next season. It's just going to take time.

This. He’s not been plucked from the league 1 after 7 first team appearances. Loads of development to come obviously but he’s not some kid from the academy who’s never played against a tough strong streetwise defence. Bizarre how much time people want to give him jogging round FF before he will somehow magically become “ready”. If he has a run of games now, misses chances and doesn’t hold the ball up, it won’t be because he isn’t ready, it will just be his level. And we will try to get the best out of it.

It’s really stupid to try and gauge a players mindset, and impossible to be accurate. But he really does look unhappy. Total utter nonsense I know. But just the vibe he gives off. Would like to see a bit of arrogance and fire from him. Certainly will win less than 50% of headers from punts forward, but maybe jumping for ALL of them, might at least force a mistake. Particularly at Everton, fans and managers will have infinitely more patience if you are visibly putting everything into it.

Anyway, brace on Tuesday and a goal and assist next week and we can stop guessing.

You are right with Beto, we had pants pulled down for that one, but we were desperate and had no cash,and could take him on a pay later deal.

There were great strikers on the market. They just seemed more willing to take £100M than the £30M we were offering plus a shiny new stadium.

Started similar at villareal was a slow start think is a mix players also not looking to find him with some of his runs he makes. Just not a link up between him and the other attackers. I think he has good hold up like seen vs brighton but agree like to see abit more effort/ fight from him. Still feel once he gets that first goal can really give him confidence and kick on

The first goal should show everything about his character..
