January Transfer Window 2026

Think it will be a full on Brands January Special aka nothing
I think you're right, but that's not a criticism of the club

We haven't had a pot to pee in for ages, and we've just gone and spent somewhere in the region of £110m, without accounting for add-ons or deals we've committed ourselves to (like Röhl) or huge wages we've taken on (like Grealish).

We've barely sold anyone to balance the books, so I think anyone expecting that there's loads of scope to spend in January is kidding themselves.

We had a very productive window where we spent, in net terms, more than most other teams in the league. I'd expect January might be frugal to compensate and you might get the odd loan or, if we do buy anyone, expect it to be offset by a sale or two (eg McNeil).

I agree and I think signing no one in January is more a sign of successful recruitment than anything as January buys tend to be overpriced paid buys.

So unless we sneak in a value buy we find from somewhere or a loan or two to pad things out the less business we do the more it will indicate the squad is working as we hoped.

Far better to be a seller in Jan and could definitely see Dwight being surplus once Afcon is out of the way.

I wouldn't be shocked at a loan signing in Jan especially with the World cup coming up, there could be a few not getting enough game time at the bigger clubs. but i cant see anything permanent happening.

That's a hefty addition on the accounts that we don't need to account for until next year. Things can change, obviously, but it would be a big surprise to me if that happened

I was thinking if we could incorporate some of the 12 mill, negotiate South of the agreed £50 mill, we could begin to amortise his cost.

If he has a good year here, we may face more competition next summer - if we dont want to pay £50 mill.

Other problem you have is that in January, he costs City more on their books than he does in July.

He's currently worth about £30 odd million in amortisation costs, whereas in July that's closer to £17m.

It should, in theory, be easier to drive City down from that £50m figure in the summer

Boyland said that we had Fellows lined up to sign on a permanent deal but TFG said no because they felt comfortable Moyes could manage without.

Think it was Moyes who said no
Yeah i get it if the thought was just seeing him as a squad player at a push still have aznou who could do a job out wide. Aswell as alcaraz think could see mcneil go jan and if brings in decent money could help to bring in better quality than fellows.

So Denzel Dumfries (29) would like a move to the Premier League, so I'll start a rumour / gossip that he's coming here in January solely for the fact that I can't be arsed going through the rigmarole of changing user names.

"We paid for that bridge, now we're going to collect !'

Fellows was a Thelwell target as was Nuamah from Lyon. But Moyes said no
And like you say Moyes didn’t see fellows as a starter and didn’t want to waste money on him, we could have easily got fellows this summer. The fact he’s ended up at another championship club, tells you everything
