League of Ireland 2025

Its sad that every LOI team progressing in Europe these days ends up having to move their games away from their home patch because of the state of their own stadiums. Shame on the FAI how they neglected the club scene while all the suits were living the high life on the back of the international team when they were successful. Hope Shels can get full houses for their run and make plenty of cash to set them up for the next couple of seasons.

It's not solely the FAIs fault though and I would burn Abbottstown to the ground in the morning.
There is a lack of foresight around stadia in this country IMHO. Tolka Park should never have been "saved" and now they have been given a 100 year lease on it.
What other country in Europe would commit to funding two stadiums within 6km of each other? Dalymount should be done as a 16k all seater which is home to Bohs and Shels. There are imho very few logical arguments to not doing this. But now we end up with a what, 7k Dalymount is it and some convoluted plan to redo Tolka but no one knows who is going yo pay for that. It's parish pump nonsense tbh.

It's the same here in Cork, Turners Cross and Musgrave park are a stone throw from each other. Friday nights when both have games is crazy. There should be one municipal stadium to accommodate Cork City FC and Munster Rugby (occasionally).
As I said there is just no foresight around stadia and facilities in this country. There is a budget soon and I'm sure it's going to bring huge money for different sporting organisations to do different things in different facilities instead of bringing huge money for all organisations to do great things in the same locations

Probably sell out Palace but can’t see it for the other two games

They’ll probably have a few thousand at that with discounted price but they ain’t selling 8k 3 match packages!
Perhaps not but I genuinely wish them the very best.

I am really chuffed that LOI teams have gone this far.

Hopefully Shels get good crowds but Rovers need to maximize the roar for our three games. I would love to be going away - imagine we are in Prague until the 27th. Just missing Sparta.

Great times to be a Blue Rover 😄

Mates lad playing for Sligo seb quirk was at Everton for ten years cheering them on me
He has been fantastic for them since joining tbh. He has played every minute and that tells you everything you need to know. Made his debut against us (Cork City) in Turners Cross, they were 2 down after an hour in a game we had to win and came back to win it 3-2.
Sligo got him for 18 months but I think he will have suitors here if not this off season then next summers window when he has only 6 months left.
