Man utd penalty today

What does it say about this exact situation except add in that the player that was getting his jersey pulled stayed on his feet for 2-3 yards and then fell forward in the opposite direction of the shirt pull as soon as he crossed into the box.
In this case it would be Law 13 that says see and follow Law 12

They have definitely not applied that rule for us.
Oh I fully agree, they got ours wrong and doubled down after the game by saying it was the correct call. But by the letter of the law, the penalty decision was correct yesterday.

The most frustrating thing is the inconsistency of applying the law and changing the rules when it suits them and then their mates in the PGMOL backing their [Poor language removed] decisions rather than accepting they got it wrong.

After the game against them in the summer series, convinced me they would get a record number of penalties awarded this season in the league, not sure right but read it is only 11, on course for a penalty in every game against a non scab 6 team.
Don't think Masters could handle another minger of a season from them again, so all they can to boost them up.

FIFA's own rules state...
The Referee controls the game, assisted by...blah, blah, blah, etc, etc.
Assisted by not controlled, guided and / or over ruled by.

The Premier League's version of VAR, is in direct contravention of the rules of football as set out by FIFA.

Completely agree.

I don’t think either are pens but the fact they got the thumbs up just says everything that’s wrong with refereeing and VAR.

Clear and obvious when it suits.

Yes something like this is much better. To be used for when each team is subject to an absolute howler like a challenge in tennis.
Goal line tech and offside are all OK as its not subjective. It's offside or not and over the line or not.
Maybe one 🃏 per team per half.
I mean most of this VAR stuff is usually super subjective. Anything that takes 4 minutes to decide should not be being watched over and over again by these spods.
Offside is subjective though because it depends when you draw the line and freeze the frames. That rule was also never intended to be officiated exactly to the millimeter (kind of like the speed limit).

Tbf, I don't know what the current rules are - but they all seem to be very subjective. But. If a defender tries to win the ball but unintentionally catches the attackers foot instead, it would be a free kick/penalty (I think). So, the Fulhan player unintentionally standing on the Chelsea players foot should be a free kick too. Shouldn't it?

The difference is, the Fulham player wasn't "trying to win the ball" though was he. He was in possession of, and in control of, the ball, and performed a totally natural move and placed his foot in a totally natural position to complete that move. The fact that the ref called it a "careless challenge" is just laughable, it wasn't even a challenge at all, let alone a careless one.

No, you could equally argue the Chelsea player commited a foul by putting his foot under the Fulham players foot. No one who plays football expects that to be a foul.
