I think Heitinga was bought as one, his first few starts were there, but then we realised he's a CB or holding mid

No idea why we were trying to loan another LB, doesn't make sense, especially given the player in question. The lack of a RB is just mad it just seems to go on and on, I refuse to believe there is nobody we couldn't have brought in.

I agree

We now have 3 decent ball players behind our striker

We have a young striker which we can develop

We have a one of the most highly rated youngsters in the country on the bench and can be bedded into a team with quality footballers to learn off

And we kept JB who in my opinion has more potential than John stones

I think we have five ball players that can play in attack. Grealish, NDiaye, Dibling, KDH and Alcaraz. I don't recall us having so many genuine ballers to choose from in my lifetime.

Phill Neville was bought for his utility, not as a specialist.

Martina is classed as a centre back on his Wikipedia page.

I think we’ve looked more for players to cover multiple positions including right back than actual right backs.

Martina was an out and out right back when we signed him, despite being the worst player on earth ever.

He was definitely signed as a full-back. He's moved to centre-back now because he's 35 and struggles to get up and down the pitch.

a central midfielder with 24 goal contributions in 42 games in the championship last year and was named in the Championship team of the season.

tbh with those stats i'd be wanting to join a better team than burnley

Jobe Bellingham played in the exact same position, in the same league and also made the team of the season with 7 goal contributions in 40 games and joined Borussia Dortmund

statistically Brownhill was 3 x better than Bellingham last season

Anyway there were rumours that we made a late bid for the young espanyol right back Omar El Hilali that didn’t work out.

He probably would have been an Anzou mk2 and a slow burner


I guess RB’s are hard to find
