As leagues go, the difference is money. The Germans refuse to allow foreign money to take over. As a result, they pay less in wages and so attract a lower-quality foreigner, on average, whilst losing many of their highest-quality local players (Havertz, Wirtz, Ter Stegen). Of course, they are more open to young high-quality players and often get them before the rich English clubs. De Bruyne was German footballer of the Year at Wolfsburg (after Chelsea chucked him out and before City came sniffing) and Haaland got his big break at Dortmund. Jude Bellingham is another classic example.

It's a delicate balance - being competitive, high-quality, and affordable - but the Bundesliga does it better than anyone. Best fan culture of all the major leagues too.
Agreed the atmosphere has been amazing at the German games I've been to and reasonably priced.

Loves art, reading & photography. He's very wholesome isn't he. Hope he smashes it for us.
Isn't Baines into photography as well? Specifically shooting on film same as Röhl.

Be nice for him to have someone on the same wavelength even if its a coach and not a player. Quite a rare type of character in football these days I imagine.

Röhl'n, Röhl'n, Röhl'n
Though the Mersey's swollen
Keep them Toffees Röhl'n, Merlin
Through rain, and wind, and weather
Hell bent for leather
Wishin' Beto would stay onside
All the things we're missin'
The medals, trophy-winnin'
Are waiting at the end of our ride.
Are you married with children ?
Have you a day Job
Don’t give it up for a career in music,
Your family can thank me later 😂😂😂😂
