Fullback is one of the most important positions on the football pitch in modern football. Going into the season fully with only JOB who can be relied on because Coleman and Patterson have had major injury issues is really poor.

Looking at the defensive options. I wonder how much we're going to need to spend on the back 4 next summer.

Full back is even more important when all your wide players drift inwards. The lack of overlapping runs will be apparent as the season goes on

Ndiaye is a winger, plus he will go to Afcon, it feels like we will need to line up a couple of players for January to cover for the players going to Afcon

Too late by then AFCON starts early December, doesn't it? And games will be thick and fast in the period where we'll be exceptionally light. Just have to hope there are no other issues.

Let's see, Moyes is conservative. How many will start against Villa? I'd say two. But happy to be wrong.

I should add another reason why I would go as high as a 7-8/10 window is the retention of Branthwaite. That could be the deal of the summer for us both in terms of long-term impact and in how we see ourselves and how others

And yet we picked up enough points to finish top 6 on average last season with a CB playing RB and a LB who can't cross. It is the least important position on the pitch and always will be regardless of what some hipsters think.
