Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Not as in love with our window as some tbh. Although our squad had been left in a diabolical state.
It's all relative. Obviously, we've strengthened the squad - that was a not a difficult task. How we have strengthened relative to others is critical if we are to improve our league position.

For me, we have brought in two certain starters in Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall. And then a lot of potential. The thing about potential is it can go two ways - and we've spent a lot of money on that. Grealish was a no-brainer. Full credit to the club for making that happen. Dibling is an expensive gamble. He'll give us options, but we can't demand too much too soon. You'd like to see some impact by Christmas. The same can be said for Aznou and Barry, but Beto looks set to be the main starter on current form. Competition is good, but we're not massively upgrading our starting XI here either. The failure to buy a new right-back looks like a sin of omission.

The German player could be the one to tip this window either way. I think he was a necessary purchase for that position.

So, if we're really only playing two new players from last season's side, I don't think we've massively upgraded. Squad-wise, yes, so depth is better, but it had to be. Moyes may feel 2-3 new starters are enough. He did well with what he had last year. His task will be to drive us into the top 10. Can he do that relative to how other clubs have spent? Let's see. 7-8/10 window for me.

Not sure I agree with that mate. I think we’ve signed more starters than 2-3. Also, the game has moved on now. We finally have a bench that we can use to change/defend a game. That’s a massive change to last season where we struggled towards the end of games. That’s a really important factor when assessing the purchases.
