Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It's a poor effort if we don't sign a RB by the end of today given that one of our first bids of the window was for Tete. Despite all of the other signings (that have defo improved us already), we've been trying to fill that position since Coleman stopped going on Club 18-30 holidays and, for the first time in ages, we've had the money to bring someone in.

But, that's all it is - a poor effort for that position. It's not like the Friedkins have deliberately run over your new puppy/diddled your ma/robbed your da's signed photo of John Bailey in that hat. We'll still do better this season than last.

This shows that the final decisions aren't being made by Moyes, which is good news for the club.
In that sense a DoF or similar makes sense - looking after the long-term squad age / value - whereas managers want the short-term solutions to keep their job (which is fair enough). Hopefully one balances out the other.

i bet my GOT membership

go!!!
You do realise that it's 16:22 and the window closes at 19:00 and only one perm transfer in for actual money , in the whole of the premier League has been signed off and done and dusted on TDD.

The " done deals" will look for the biggest media exposure after 6pm.

It seems Moyes opinion is that OBrien is ok at RB.

I remember him doing the same with Jags and Lescott - in fact Lescott was decent at LB.
There've been regular briefings throughout the summer that it's a position where Everton have been looking to strengthen. It seems highly likely that we'll be returning to this next summer, or possibly in January.
