Hoo boy. I guess this means Harry is almost certainly staying. Our RB depth is O'Brien/Garner/Coleman/Patto. I really wish Moyes had just given Dixon a run in preseason.
if he needs to play mate
it’s better to play you know in a season
than not

Jack and Merlinit is strange that we have barely utilised the loan market to strengthen the team
1 loan signing
especially with the amount of players that needed to be replaced you would have thought the loan market would have been perfect for us
interesting

Perhaps a loan would have been nice...or another young upcoming striker from some low league somewhere. We were never gonna buy a another striker after spanking over £50m on them and no one they want available.
Definitely thought they would have filled all the loan slots up maybe gives us some scope in janit is strange that we have barely utilised the loan market to strengthen the team

This shows that the final decisions aren't being made by Moyes, which is good news for the club.More than anything I am surprised by the age profile of the players we have signed this summer.
Anzou and Dibling are just 19. Barry, Dibling, Alcaraz and possibly now Rohl as well all 23 or under.
I thought David Moyes would go for more experienced, older players but it looks as if we are trying to build a team for the future as well as the present.

I mean worst case scenario (job injury) you could still use patto. Not ideal, but better for the balance of the team than using garner. It seems Moyes opinion is that OBrien is ok at RB.
I remember him doing the same with Jags and Lescott - in fact Lescott was decent at LB.
So did I till I googled him.I thought Dixon was loaned out?

Get 'frustrated' all you want. It's just simply being misplaced in this case for the reasons I've outlined
For the record - a 'specialist right back' before this window closed would've been a 'nice to have' of course, but not a 'must' have..
Moyes will makeshift but I think it's also worth noting that ultimately a 39 year old Ashley Young appeared as the steadiest option between those two last season. I love Seamus as much as all of us but it was more than reasonable to assume retirement was on the table this summer for a reason. Patterson has been plagued with fitness issues but also been incredibly unreliable even when he's available. Maybe he puts together some of that potential in the first few months that seems still possible, I just think its equally plausible that we don't have even a median EPL level RB in the squad at present.Tbf we have Seamus and Patterson at RB with Garner as back up.
We obvs thought we had Tete too.
