Think we've had about 5 years, unless they only discovered this summer that Seamus wasn't going to get any younger

He will be 37 this October , Patterson hasn’t worked out, it’s a key position that needed sorting imo.

Onyango is capable of playing both midfield and RWB, so he would have been a useful player to keep I think

Will be interesting to see how he does at Stockport as he was good the first time until injuries hit him

But how can it not be? Honest question. O'Brien looked very uncomfortable against Wolves on Saturday. Wolves.

Because the side are playing more advanced, there's more space between midfield and defence, who are in turn pushing up a bit further and so not the low block cut the space down force them to cross to our tall defence type game plan. A new RB coming in won't displace O'B right away anyhow, there's settling in and learning the rest of the defence to do. What will help defence is sorting the who's doing what in CM, because we're in a bit of disarray there.

Everton keep trying for RB. They looked at both Geertruida (potentially off to Sunderland) and Maehle (can play both FB positions) over the past 48 hours. Both were quoted at £20m+ for loan plus options and we only wanted to commit about half of that. Ultimately it has been this valuation gap that has seen us draw a blank. We’ve potentially been unrealistic in our valuations but

We'll be back in for them soon, this is the Friedkins way.

Really don’t get the over dramatisation of the defence.

4th best in the league last year and we haven’t lost any of them.

We have instead, bolstered the midfield which was needed and drastically improved the attack which means we can be on the front foot more and reduce the pressure on the defence.

Myko played the ball into grealish for betos goal on Sat. He isn’t as awful as people make out. (Sure someone will now try and diminish it saying it was just a hopeful ball in).

We've lost Ashley Young, brought in Aznou. Garner can clearly do a job at RB or LB. So I suspect the club doesn't rank it as high on their priorities as most of us. The signing of Aznou though signals what we're looking for in the future: FBs who love going forward and can play as wing backs if required.

Crying for any old RB considering that we already have 4 players at the club who play the position..

The idea is to bring players in who'll actually improve us - not just pad the numbers there.

The RB position has become a bit of an obsession for some considering that we still only have two left-backs after Aznou..

It’s a failing to not bring in a RB, we clearly need one. It is ok to be a bit critical you know.

I’m confident he could do it in the PL too

He’s never been given a proper chance even though he offers versatility

I hope he smashes it at County and we actually give him a chance next season

Too many times recently lads have done well on loan but it’s led to nothing when they get back

Simms is the most obvious, as he had a handful of loans where he did well (Blackpool especially) and it led to nothing when he got back

Very disappointing to not get a right back in, need more quality at full back in general but instead we’re going into this season with a centre back as our first choice right back

Yeah we do have 2 players for every position, but that is light up front and obviously the 2 for RB are Patterson and Coleman, which is very flaky.
