Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I just don’t like the idea the club think it’s okay to “manage” that’s all. If we’re completely out of funds, sure, but if we’re not it’s potentially just wasting an opportunity to finish high this year.

We won games in Jan which meant we pulled away from some transfers and I’d hate to think that’s what we’ve done today.
I can see them possibly wanting to test combinations of Garner, KDH, and Charly in the middle. Or it could be they want to leave a spot open for Armstrong.

It's the right back I don't understand. Every man and their dog knows Patterson isn't up to it and Coleman is finished at this level. O'Brien does a job but with an entire summer to address it we have hardly even been linked to any right backs.

There's been weak links to the Sevilla fella and the lad from Norwich but nothing has seemed serious besides the Tete offer. Why?

If we finalise 2/3 signings today, does that bump your rating up to 7 maybe 8/10, Mike?

We are still short a few signings, but I must say, I haven’t felt this enthusiastic about our signings and progress at the beginning of a season since perhaps the Ancelotti season.

Yes but let’s be realistic about this, it’s not looking likely is it. Be amazed if we brought anyone in.

Worst case scenario is they’ve seen us win a few games and seen Coleman play 90 and think we are alright.

We do have, numerically, 5-6 central midfielders, so it does sound weird saying we need one, but you only have to watch the Wolves game to see we 100% are missing a 6 instead of a billion 8’s.

My assumption is that they don't want to sign anyone unless they're actually better at RB than JOB as of now. There's no point paying for some one who can't win the job from him.

I flat out refuse to believe there isn’t an available right back out there available who would be better than O’Brien out of position. I’m not falling for that line, I think it’s a poor excuse for laziness.

Welcome to deadline day lids.
It’s going to be some hell of a ride
I reckon we buy one and loan 2/3
Chermiti sale , Patterson and Armstrong loan if we get a RB and a CM in
I can’t see us buying or loaning players for the sake of it
If Moyes thinks they fit the squad he will pull the trigger otherwise he won’t
I won’t be surprised to see a CF and a CB come in

There isn’t a single link out there to anybody. This isn’t happening.

That should be a given.

While O'Brien is sound defensively, that side is crying out for a bit of threat from the full back. Moreso especially because Dibling is another winger who likes to cut inside and so is Ndiaye when he plays there.

And with respect it's not really even the argument.

The argument for me is we need a proper back up. We have 4 CBs, one is injury prone, 2 are over 30 (and one isn't meant to be a regular starter) and we are playing our 4th option, who arguably should be our second choice at right back.

I think if he plays in the middle he has the speed to cut out both their goals on Saturday.

We would be daft to assume that situation is ok for the season.
