Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

RB should really have been sorted before everything else. It's obvious but we're not going to get teams first choice players in the loan market and even late buys are going to be the also-rans now coz they can't get replaced. Hopefully there is a decent RB out of favour at a good team still available, but more likely we get a Vinagre situation who doesn't end up playing. It's a shame as the other players in look great...

Baz on Toffee TV mentioned Dju and Ivanovic again yesterday. Dju has been mentioned before as has Ivanovic but not heard of any concrete links to either. You would wonder if Ivanovic might be one that would happen though with Chermiti going.

Add Suarez to this side and a good DM and when we get Branthwaite back we actually have a team that should be aiming as high as fifth.

Only standout teams are the noisy neighbours, arsenal and city - Chelsea without Palmer are relying on badly dodgy refs, spurs - look like typical spurs, Newcastle losing isaak is huge, villa are being wrecked by PSR constraints, united are a train wreck. Forest have strengthened but got a mess with their owners and manager - rumours Ange is the one lined up to replace him which could screw them over as he's a loon.

Nobody else so far looks to be looking that good.

Got the horrid feeling if we go with what we've got, we will look back at this as a huge opportunity lost - much like happened several times with Moyes in January's past when a couple of players could have made a huge difference...

As a lot of teams have already done their business, we could be the only one in for a DM or a RB.

However, were leaving things very late for them to get replacements in.

We're going to either have to offer big money or go for players at big clubs who arent starting.

Casado at Barca perfectly times tackles and can sit & Sanchez looks a good option for the right back position.

Someone posted on here that Bobble had said we see Sanchez as a midfielder rather than a RB.

Nah, priority was rightly to bring in creativity so we are more of a threat and it’s worked.
Our bid for Tete was opportunistic- improve that position with a free signing. I think we’ve focused cash spend on the final third and rightly so

I’ve been wondering if we’re leaving it late with Barca to try to get a good option-to-buy and sell-on deal in Hector Fort with a couple off back UL plans in place if it doesn’t work out.

Yeah, right back is the glaring omission now, precisely because we’ve brought in so much quality further up the pitch.

It was never job-one of the window - even if we aren’t happy with it still being outstanding.

I think we will leave the RB and go big in the summer.

Think we will go for more defensive minded mid and with chermitti going maybe someone who can cover the right wing by and upfront.

Yes, in theory they've focused mainly on the attack this window.

Next summer you'd expect they look at the next area which looks weakest. So either midfield or defence.

However, we've spent around £130mil this window. Surely we wont be able to do the same next season with PSR.

There will have to be sales. I suspect we'll see Branthwaite sold and an entire new back 4 signed - unless Anzou or O'Brien really step up.

PSR is changing next year to something else, wages to income or something like that

Fort apparently doesnt want to leave Barcelona. Otherwise i'd have suggested him and Casado in a double deal.
