Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Exactly this. We all hope we can do more. The people leaping to say McNeil is superb and must not go need to adjust their standards. McNeil was Dyche's standard bearer. Grealish is Moyes'. We should buy players for where we want to be and get the ones of the standard of where we've been, out the club. Rome wasn't built in a day though.
I dont mind McNeil as a 20 minute cameo man but if we can get him out and replace with better then who could say no?

I think the DM is desperately needed. Their goal yesterday when Keane was out wide left and Myko higher up shows why we desperately need one.

A real DM would have covered the space left by Myko so Keane doesn’t get pulled out.

Spot on assessment really, just feel now we've left it too late to actually get a very good one, perfect one in fact was the lad at Genoa - who'd have only cost around 20m max, and who Roma had looked at this summer too.

Don't see them letting him go this late on now though.

He's that good at what he does that we sometimes overlook that Gueye doesn't provide great cover at all when we get hit in transition.

With his age it's why I'm of the opinion we should be looking for the next Gueye as I think long term we'd be best suited to a defensive mid like a Barry was with two KDH/Garner types ahead in the 8s

2 days to go, surely if Chermiti goes we need to bring 1 or 2 in as we have only 23 players at the moment.
However no right back in sight i fear we keep Pato and no solution till January
I guess we try for Soucek or Mainoo as last resorts tomorrow.
Striker same as the right back we keep refreshing GOT after tomorrow for Vardy or Antonio

Add Suarez to this side and a good DM and when we get Branthwaite back we actually have a team that should be aiming as high as fifth.

Only standout teams are the noisy neighbours, arsenal and city - Chelsea without Palmer are relying on badly dodgy refs, spurs - look like typical spurs, Newcastle losing isaak is huge, villa are being wrecked by PSR constraints, united are a train wreck. Forest have strengthened but got a mess with their owners and manager - rumours Ange is the one lined up to replace him which could screw them over as he's a loon.

Nobody else so far looks to be looking that good.

Got the horrid feeling if we go with what we've got, we will look back at this as a huge opportunity lost - much like happened several times with Moyes in January's past when a couple of players could have made a huge difference...

Is it truly Everton we don't try to take full advantage of the loan market, let's get 3 more loans please
Ok, but I would be a little cautious and save the second domestic loan spot to January. Last season’s debacle with Broja filling one of the loan spots should tell us not to tie our hands too early.

Broja was just an obvious poor loan choice due to his extensive injury record , nothing is guaranteed but that was an issue of us being sensible
