2025/26 Thierno Barry

Not getting the negativity he was great when he came on won a few headers, held it up well
People don't know the game mate. They expect strikers to somehow get on to the end of aimless punts from the back when they're surrounded by 3 defenders. There wasn't a single ball that got knocked up to him that I would expect any striker in world football to make anything of.

Agreed. A few great first touches.
I think his first touch has been the biggest and most pleasant surprise. When he signed people described him as raw and I sort of thought he’d be a big guy with a touch like Beto. Wrong. Has some lovely touches.

There’s definitely something there, he needs time to get up to speed and physicality. He’s not really had the break of the ball in front of goal or around the box. It’s not like he’s missing sitters.

Think Moyes will start Beto for a while though.

Really needs to learn that when you come on as a late sub energy conservation isn't a high priority. Doubt whoever is in charge of kit laundry went to the trouble of picking his shirt up. Things don't always go well for strikers, but the very least they can do is make opposing defenders and midfielders hurry their passes.

The Everton summer signing impressing in training

Jack Grealish has really impressed at Evertonin his opening games on Merseyside, having already racked up four assists.

He is not the only Everton summer signing to impress, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall also showing his quality in these early stages.

However, speaking on TalkSPORT, journalist Ben Jacobs has said he’s been told how good Thierno Barry has been in Everton training.

“I’m told that Thierno Barry, in training, is just wowing everyone,” said Jacobs.

“I think he is one of the players that will break very quickly onto the Premier League

He’s clearly got some quality just hasn’t really imposed himself on the game yet. Want to see him rough up some defenders and make his presence known.

Felt he should have done more with the Rohl pass, is he a bit slow and not overly strong?
Just dont think he it really helps him coming on off the bench, feel both times as a sub hasnt looked his best. When he started the brighton, i thought had a good game was making great runs just not found by team mates had good hold up aswell. Feel has abit of everything decent pace and his strength will just get better as the season goes on. As will see defenders here more physical

I think he’s definitely shown some quality, and he’s definitely more of a footballer than Beto. my only worry with Barry starting is Ndiaye feels like the only goal scorer on the pitch

Not sure if its the tactics but the ball was played to Beto over and over today, yet when Barry came on I don't think it was even played to him once bar that thing in the box.

Just feel needs that first goal whatever it does look like, just to take the pressure off. Think did read his time at villarreal was also the same started slow, do get what you mean about ndiaye. Also feel today was down to the set up having garner out of the midfield, would have also given gana to be able to push forward who i think will get a couple this season, same with kdh. Feel the balance at lb today with myko would have helped create more space for kdh grealish to combine more. I do think will see alot more goals in this team

He doesn't look switched-on to me. Instead he looks like he's nervous and the occasions getting to him. Needs to get out of his own head and do his job. Hopefully he clicks after a few goals.

Really? Not the through ball where he looked very slow and could have either shot on his left or cut back onto his right. He didn’t really do either.
