Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

@Joey66 mate, one of my students suffers badly from gout himself. He's around 67-68 just had a hip replacement op too, I'll hit him up for anything he can recommend that may help out - he's a bit of a nut in terms of research into helping his condition out.

Paqueta has a lot of talent but he drifts in and out of games far too often for me.
Yeah on form he was brilliant, but does have games were he seems to just not fancy it.

Given a squid game choice of Soucek or Paqueta though, I'd not even have to think about which.

As @Nymzee said though, personally I'd rather neither and we addressed what we actually need to improve the starting 11

suffering with Gout sorry to anyone offended by my views on Soucek
I suffer with gout. I have found that I need to force myself to drink a lot of water and I am absolutely fine. If I don't drink enough for a day or two then I get that feeling where it feels like I might have just gone over on my ankle and that is my warning sign I'm about to have an attack. If I ignore it I can't put any weight on my foot the next morning but if I pop two colchicine I've been prescribed then it often fights it off. If I don't get any warning signals then I have 2 colchicine in the morning after an attack and then a tablet every few hours, that seems to stave it off so I get through the day but you have to be careful as colchicine can badly upset your stomach. Horrible, horrible thing gout and I don't drink red wine, eat cheese or eat a lot of red meat so makes a mockery of the traditional views as to what causes it.

I have wasted money on cherry capsules, they did not seem to have any affects on me.

Don't think dibling will start immediately and paqueta would be a huge upgrade as an attacking option.

Shocked that people are turning their noses up at him

We have Grealish, Ndiaye, Charly, Dibling & McNeil in the attacking positions. We have no right-back. It’s not that people are turning their nose up to Paqueta it’s just not what we need with 3 days to go.

Then we’re not agreed? I don’t want either of them.

Notice the full stop after the word 'agreed'?

I agree that neither player look like they are necessary.

However, (note the new sentence) with Paqueta he's so good that a place would be found for him.

You mean like he’s driven West Ham up the league?

Imagine where they would have been last few seasons without him.

Paqueta has a lot of talent but he drifts in and out of games far too often for me.

He's known for his pressing, not only his on the ball play.

Yeah Paqueta is the type of player you either build an attack around if weak in attacking areas or you add as an option into a CL type squad.

Very odd to add him to us as we'd be approaching CL/EL levels of depth in that position and bare arsed at RB and centre mid.

Think we'll deffo get a couple more in. Whether they're permanent transfers I'm not convinced.

We've loads of loans to play with so it'D be irresponsible not to use some of them.

I also think we all need to exercise a bit of caution. We are not going to get the perfect squad in one window

So some of the players that come in might not be the glamorous ones were expecting, they could well be bodies to cover things like right back and DM. Key thing to remember is they're loans not permanent and we can maybe get more permanent additions in January or next summer
