Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Like I said in MY OPINION its been a moderate window if we buy Soucek.
You see, my issue when people say things like this mate, is they were exactly the same negative posts when we were signing Tarkovski….. now I’m not for one minute suggesting soucek is a world beater but he may come here, like the place, like the manager and his team mates, and he might fit in as a cog in a team which performs well….what I’m saying is I suppose is that we’re all too quick to pre judge

Rhe 38 game season is a squad game. You simply cant put out the same 11 every week abd neither tactically should you unless you have the best players that money can buy.

Soucek will do well in certain games where maybe the pace is slower and we may need to be more direct.

He's always done well against us and to be honest he will be another club in the bag to use when necessary. He is a proven PL player who knows Moyes' expectations. If he signs, I back Moyes and I back him.

......and Moyes was bang-on correct in every instance. The world's best ever player wasn't necessarily ready for regular top flight selection in his youth, obviously. I don't see what's hard to understand about that. (Rooney being built like Godzilka doesn't mean his decision-making and positional sense didn't make him a net negative selection for a few months, for instance).
Oh I so want this Eastern European remake to exist, it'd be perfect for the fall of the iron curtain.

If I was an opposition manager I'd prefer to gameplan for Alcaraz/KDH/Tim starting for Everton than a Soucek.

And I don't really want us to sign him.

The lack of a right back signing has to be deliberate although it doesn’t appear logical.
I can only assume Moyes is happy with Coleman and O’Brien with Garner providing additional cover.

We’ve missed out on a few potential targets, even today Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with Juventus for RB Nicolo Savona.
They are paying €15m for the 22 year old.

It can only be that we want a different profile RB and either there isnt one available or the fee would be too high this summer.

I'm a bit confused why we havent at least signed a top prospect (at least for the u21s) who could replace Coleman on the bench next season perhaps.

He did or the club did? He didn’t seem to have a clue about a player we’ve been in intense negotiations with for for six weeks and spent close to a club record on. “We’ll try and give him a few minutes and see what he’s all about and what he might offer us”

His comments once Anzou signed were weird as well. Cant remember about Barry.

Contrast with KDH and Grealish who he was salivating over.

Except this time we’ve also brought in Dibling, Grealish and KDH. Would’ve been impossible under the old regime. Soucek proves nobody spot in, unless they are the sort to disregard all evidence contrary to their view and then still claim to be right.

Soucek would be part of a mix. On higher wages, probably, but one purchase like that does NOT signal a return to the Moshiri era mindset. Honestly I think some of us have been permanently scarred by the last few years. Unable to see that we are in a different place right now.

I’m not saying I’d be all over him, but the attitude displayed by some at the prospect of his arrival is more akin to PTSD than it is common sense.

As i posted a couple of hours ago, if were rebuilding then fast forward to next summer and the likely squad going into the window.

Soucek wouldnt be close to our 11 and perhaps not even 2nd choice.

Would be absolutely ridiculous to not bring a right back in tbh. I would have been ok with Walker or Walker Peters, what on earth was the plan?

Walker Peters I think would have been a poor move. Not good enough and would be on a few years contract.

Walker for a season may have added experience but perhaps Moyes felt that O'Brien would benefit more from the games.

If we werent going to sign someone to slot in short-term then i find it a bit odd we didnt go for a top 17-19 year old to develop over the season and ready for next year.

When people are looking for rage fuel unfortunately
It’s the fear. Only the naive trust Everton Football Club after the last 30 years of arrant mismanagement, propaganda, nefarious sentimentality, and weaponised nostalgia.

The new owners will have to earn trust. Given the current manager was instrumentalised by the regime that did so much to diminish this club, benefits of the doubt will be hard earned.

You’re obsessed with young men ffs… every single post … it’s weird

Am really worried about scoring goals in the League. Not really bothered about Cup matches tbh. High Lge position is more important to me. When walking to the ground, all I'm thinking about is can we score goals today. Never think about how many will we let in. Don't care if we let in 3, as long as we score 4. 😄. Seasoned striker needed even on loan for a year

According to the behind the scenes chatter that has popped up here, Moyes has highly rated dibbling and was one of the main proponents of being adamant over sealing his signature. People act like Moyes hasnt developed younger players, he can be cautious at times but he's not dyche look what he did with rice

Yeah I know, turned up here and had the audacity to keep the club in the premiership. What an absolute bar.stud.

We demand diminish Davey boy!

Well, I wanted Tarkowski. Also lets not forget Moyes was bidding £30mil+ for him a year or two prior when he was at West Ham so the financials for us were great as well.

No one is bidding for Soucek. No one is seeing in him what Tarkowski could and has added.

I like to look at January and then next summer and see which players are likely to still be in the squad and the 11.

Having Soucek playing a part next season doesnt seem logical.
