Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Would be absolutely ridiculous to not bring a right back in tbh. I would have been ok with Walker or Walker Peters, what on earth was the plan?

It seems like the plan is to bring in a RB, as with the Nathan Patterson loan story is that it's agreed upon with Sevilla but won't commence until we find a right back, whether that actually happens is a different tale

Maybe we need the Chermiti loan/purchase/obligation to be finalised before we loan the RB?

I do wonder if there’s a plan in place to borrow a right back off Roma, and they’re leaving it late just in case the dominoes fall in such a way that a better opportunity presents itself. They have at least 3 specialist right backs I think - Wesley, Rensch and Celik if memory serves. Obviously Wesley’s out, but they might be happy to loan us Rensch and leave Celik to cover.

Don’t really know much about him though. I’ve heard he’s better than Celik from chatter here and elsewhere but that’s about it

Saw enough from.Moyes version one to realise he will not play younger players if he has options or they are that good he can't avoid doing so. Usually he has circumstances force his hand.

But can look back at his trusting in youth.

Coleman, farmed out till about 22-23 on loans before eventually bring him enough minutes on the wing.
Baines sat on the bench for over a year behind a centre back converted to makeshift left back in lescott.- until Lescott has the worst game of his career v Dahlmat.
Barley - loaned out several times including the developmental loan to Sheffield united under Warnock who played him as a singer and a sub...
Rooney - the best generational talent of the last 40 years, built like a brick shihouse, who Moyes treated like he was just a young kid managing his minutes. When he was clearly ready to play every week - as he did right after moving from us.

Probs lots of others but those four stand out.
The typo's in this are ace. Encore sir, encore!!!

Our squad is so threadbare Moyes doesn’t really have in choice in playing youngsters or not
I heard Moyes plan is to get soucek in , then clone him and that way we can field a starting eleven of lumbering Czechs and no youngsters are needed to play, people on the forum then lose their minds and become an unhinged war lord like in a mad Max movie

coleman had 1 loan. lescott was playing well at lb. barkley is as dumb as a bag of bricks. rooney was 16-17 so can why he was cautious but should have played more. the narrative also ignores how he brought vaughan, anichebe, rodwell etc into the team moyes has his faults but some are just determined to slate him

I didn't have Soucek top of my list during this window - but given our other signings with such a blend of youth and flair - I think he'd now be perfect for us. Big strong unit who isn't too bad at footy and knows where the goal is. I trust Moyes on this - and Hammers fans I know do not want to lose him.
