Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Is brownhill the only free that could be a possibility? Everyone else looks rubbish/injured
How low is your bar if Brownhill isn't considered rubbish?

He's a million miles away from the profile of player the club are bringing in. If we're contemplating giving £80k pw (£13m deal value) to a 29 year old midfielder it will be for someone considerably better than him.

Alright mate

You do realise that O'Brien is an actual centre back? He also played a full season there at Lyon and played well.

Also every position on the park is a specialist position, it's shy you don't see Ndiaye at right back or McNeil up front lad.

But funny to see so rine hang there neck out for Keane, it's that 1/3 games he played where we end up conceding 3+ in compared to doing that 1 in 11 when he dies t okay that must have you reckoning he's better than O'Brien
I do realise that but I haven't seen him play for Lyon and there is a big difference between the premier league and the French league. He hasn't looked convincing at centre back when I have seen him so until he puts in a run of good performances at centre back the jury is still out for me. People assumed Aznou would definitely be better than Myko but that is still highly questionable at this stage. Best not to make assumptions without evidence.

OK. Tell me, though, what was he good at. I've pointed out he didn't score goals or create them. His tackling stats are even worse.
Did you actually ever watch him play? He did a decent job for us and was part of the transition from us being relegation fodder to a more solid team. Worked hard, good in the air, helped his fullback out. Stat bros obviously won't understand the nuances have probably never participated in any team sport in their lives.

Deffo RB and DM are needed in this window. With Beto and Barry options for the one spot up top, and four options for the 3 playing behind them, 4 and a half if you include McNeill, a RB is badly needed and then a strong DM. Gana got his short term deal but at his age he is not going to last long term and I don`t trust Garner or Tim to play that role together but would be happy with a strong experienced DM playing alongside either of them.
I don't think Beto and Barry have enough goals in them for the season, will be very disappointed and underwhelmed if we don't strengthen our striker department
