2025/26 Thierno Barry

Don't understand the hate on this lad. Our fan base is going to destroy him like Moise Keane. Was unlucky and could've scored a header if he got over it more, played a key role NDiaye goal on the weekend. He does a lot of unselfish work dragging centre backs out of position. Solid full debut.

He's had a rapid rise, in less than three years he's gone from France, to Switzerland, to Spain and he's now here in Liverpool. Let the young lad settle and find his feet and he will be a great striker for us.
I’ve said it a couple of times and I’ll say it again. He was playing 5th tier in France three years ago. Any expectation that he’d immediately flash elite level traits as a striker in his first few games in England is totally laughable. He’s improved everywhere he’s been and there’s no reason that won’t continue. I thought the play with Ndiaye was nifty and he did great holding the ball up for the other goal. Let’s get 100% behind him. I know the price tag is big compared to what we’ve spent the last few years, but in reality it’s a snip compared to what most strikers go for these days.

I don’t think we need to go down the ‘he was playing at x level however long ago’ route with him, we paid decent money for him from a top level club, where he was at in the past really isn’t relevant and it just comes across as making excuses when we don’t need to. He’s started fine, there’s a load of room for improvement but also plenty of good signs. Let’s just take that for what it is, and not overly attack or defend him.

No "hate" whatsoever. Its simply a discussion thread on our new star striker!? Caveat it's early days of course but the idea nobody should say anything vaguely critical is bizarre. These players are paid millions to be in the public eye so polite comments should be par for the course.

He has the same running style as someone but I can't think who it is.

None of the above. It's the slightly hesitant small steps with his arms not far away from his body. I think it was another striker, one that didn't play for us. Someone will remember.
